Chattanooga Lacrosse

Guys I'm a sophmore at UTC and this spring we just built the first Lacrosse Team ever, its a club not a varsity team, so we're poor $ and we don't have an official coach(guy older than 19, even though our guy is great for a freshman), but surprisingly we're doing great and I really want to help spread Lacrosse in Chattanooga because its incredibly weak; so we're taking the initiative. So if any of the high schools guys are looking at UTC, and still want to play lax, don't worry, we have alot of Father Ryan guys, Christian Brothers, and MUS. Also if there is any other Chatt guys like sponsors or coaches or even fans we could really need your support.

Call Coach Kemp at McCallie. He's done more to promote LAX in Chattanooga than anyone. I'm sure he'd like to help.

Yeah our president met up with him and got some refs but nothing has really taken off.

Troy doesn't need me making excuses for him but I imagine he's a little preoccupied this time of year. He's also been getting youth programs started on Signal Mountain and maybe some other communities in Chattanooga. Best of luck at UTC.

Sewanee, be tried to play, but never happened. We also played Auburn last weekend if you mean UnivAlab-Birmingham. But I appreciate the info guys.

Oh by the way- your Music City Team is that post collegiate team or league? If you're interested in playing or have any tournament info, I'll pitch it out to our captain.

Yeah I've heard that too. I graduated from Notre Dame in '04 and they were thinking about it too then.

Baylor used to have a team in the late 90's. It would be nice if they had one again.

 

The birmingham team in a post graduate team that plays in the SELL, which is the league our team plays in. Check the Alabama US lacrosse website to see if there's any contact info. I know Cory gave our captain your info. I'm not sure how he'll schedule us.

It was too violent a sport for all the tree huggers at the Baylor school for girls and boys.
