If Notre Dame can get away playing soccer on their football field anyone can. The fence on one side is can't be more than two or three feet away from the out of bounds line. Makes for interesting throw-ins.

Magnet schools look like yet another TSSAA classification opportunity to make sure little Johnny and Mary have a "level" playing field and win at least one state championship before graduating - the God given right that every TN high school student has.

I meant "Potter had much better students at McCallie". It seemed clear when I posted it originally. On the other hand, he's got better athletes at BA. Seems like a good trade if you want to be in the finals year end and year out.

I imagine their decision not to pursue BA for legal fees had to do with the liklihood they wouldn't prevail. Had BA's suit been without merit and determined to be frivolous they might have had a case. This case went through multi federal appeals and to the Supreme Court twice. Hard to call that frivolous.

The longer Potter is coaching at BA, the better they should become. Potter's offenses are relatively complex. At McCallie, the middle school coaches started running some of the offense used in the high school. Of course Potter had much better students at McCallie but not nearly as many athletes as he has at BA.

The series started 104 years ago and was suspended in 1940 because of violence (now that's a rivalry). The series renewed in 1971. Fourteen future NFL players and three future College Hall of Fame players have played in the series.

Will the TSSAA sue the plaintiff for legal fees? Generally the plaintiff has the larger legal bill in a civil case. In this case, wonder if Barfield and BB&S gave BA a discount.

PF lost 7 games this year. Five of the losses were to public schools. Maybe PF should schedule more private schools.

the "usual suspect" was removed. I won't name him but he lives in Knoxville, his two daughters are the top doubles team and would win without the on-court coaching.

Not to dinigrate Carter or Sherrod but a very good record and scoring stats were earned against very weak competition. A player the caliber of Sherrod can dominate when playing weak teams. CAK is anything but weak. CAK by 2 or 3.

I think CDHS was down a few players compliments of extracurricular activities in their last game. I believe Elizabethton will be down a few also because they participated in the same extracurricular activities.

CCS is 0 and forever against McCallie but rarely is the game not one of the best in the city. One year the worm (no offense to CCS or worms) will turn. Hope Bromberg is back for the tournament.

I've sent all my children to private schools and I have a lot of them. We drove older than dirt cars, rarely vacationed, did without cable, etc. We did it because we're convinced that was what was best for our kids. I don't expect everyone to buy into the private school experience but don't appreciate ignorant comments from those who don't know what they're talking about and regularly prove it with asinine criticism born out of jealousy. Might be genes (my wife's not mine), might be the education and might be a combination of both but all received academic scholarships in addition to the Hopes at the next level.

Weak only relative to prior years. Very competitive versus most local teams. They're also inconsistent which has something to do with a new but very good coach learning his players.

Easily the weakest Baylor team in recent memory but still brought their "A" game Friday evening. Full stands, lots of school spirit from both, good coaching, good playing - typical McCallie Baylor soccer game.
