This morning they announced that it will be this Friday at Drakes Creek in Hendersonville. They are bringing in the #2 pitcher for UT and one other pitcher to have 12 pitches apiece. I say Frank goes yard at least once, especially since they will be pitching from the college distance, which is what an extra 5 ft? Frank was an all-state catcher in HS and is a world class athlete...I think he'll do it. :thumb:

so i assuming you mean megan rhodes, and it is 43 ft instead of 40ft. Frank might foul one off. find out what time, i am assuming they are doing this to coincide with music city hits tournament, out team plays at 800 friday, so someone let us know.

This is the section of the article that talks about the challenge.

Batter up: Wycheck accepted an on-air challenge to hit a fast-pitch softball from a female pitcher and former college player.

Wycheck said on the air he did not enjoy watching women's fast-pitch softball because "every at-bat is either a strikeout or a home run.'' Earlier, he claimed he could hit a home run off University of Tennessee ace Monica Abbott.

When Kristen Thomas, a former college player, called to debate Wycheck on the matter, they agreed to have her pitch to him in a challenge with proceeds going to charity.

It'll happen next Friday morning during the show in Hendersonville at the Drakes Creek Softball Complex. The public is invited to watch Wycheck whiff or wallop the ball.

:thumb: The article in the Tennessean says Kristen Thomas, a former college pitcher agreed to pitch. It doesn't say anything about Rhodes or Cheri. So, is all that just a rumor or will others pitch to him. Please only post facts not rumors!

On the show this morning Kristen Thomas called in and said that the #2 pitcher for UT was a local girl and that she agreed to pitch to Frank. Rather than put an angry little face on your post, listen tomorrow morning to The Wake Up Zone. The show starts at 6 AM and it's a call in show, (104.5 FM), so here's an idea...call the show and ask for yourself. The number is 737-1045. After you call, post on here about your conversation and yes, you too can post only facts, not rumors! :thumb:

I GUESS THE TENNESSEAN IS IN THE HABIT OF MISQUOTING INFORMATION. MAYBE SINCE YOU HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS YOU SHOULD WRITE FOR THEM! AND, FOR YOUR INFORMATION I HAVE NEVER POSTED A RUMOR ON ANY WEBSITE. AND NO, I WON'T BE CALLING THE RADIO STATION, I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY TIME! I WAS TRYING TO RELY ON OTHER PEOPLE FOR INFORMATION ON A FUN EVENT!. MAYBE IF YOU HAD PLAYED BALL IN COLLEGE YOU MIGHT UNDERSTAND. I GUESS FANS AND PARENTS ARE THE ONES THAT ALWAYS CAUSE TEH PROBLEMS. LIKE THE SMILEY FACE BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oops...you need to really re-read your post, then mine and sit back and think about what you wrote and read. Let me put in quotes what you wrote:

By the way, that is quite the misguided rant you have. B)

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
