siegel should win but if they take springfield lightly it seems that springfield could win

If they play ANY team with any less intensity than they played R'dale they could lose. That is one of the main raps that have hurt them over these past few years in that they let down when they should keep up the pressure not only on the other team but themselves as well. The season is a full 10 weeks long, and if they want it to be longer they have to keep up the pressure until they want to put the pads away for the season.

Siegel loses by 3 in this one 'if' they let down. wins by 10 or more if they don't.

Now it is up to them.

good post...i agree 100%...and if the stars are disciplined well tomorrow night and play good focused football i think they win fairly easily...if not we deserve to lose

i don't think we'll take springfield lightly...only thing i'm worried about is if we overlooked springfield because oakland's next week

either way...if the stars don't come disciplined tomorrow night i think you can blame it mostly on the coaches...we have enough talent to make the playoffs this year and we should make the playoffs this year

Siegel is playing the best ball I have seen them play in their four years so far, and whether they keep it up it out of the Coaches hands. It is the PLAYERS themselves that have to keep themselves motivated and working hard. If the Coach says do 5 reps on the weights, then do six or MORE. You have to make yourself strong. No one else can do it for you.

People kept asking how the 'clone' got so strong, and this is exactly how he did it. Ever run a mile with a 40 pound pack on your shoulders? The 'clone' did it daily here at home. He did it for football and ROTC, because he wanted to.

I agree......the coaches can tell you what your assignments are on the field and have you prepared. But it is the player who has to man up and make the play by being focused and listening to the coach. I don't know how many times I have seen a kid get into the backfield to make a tackle for loss and see the guy not wrap up and BAMMMMMM first down after holding them on 3 plays, or even worse for SIX points. Coaches didn't mess that one up.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
