I see all these threads about this team verrus that, but no one has started a MHS vs Clinton topic. Could it be that the result is a foregone conclusion and the only question is the final score and whether MHS plays 3 QBs or 4?

When will the 3rd team see the field - first half or second?

Score: IMO 47- 14 MHS (the 14 comes late against backups)

BTW: Is it true that Justin got hurt? I've been trying to get a hold of his mom or dad, but haven'r been able to yet.

Maryville will continue to build depth on Friday night. GQ has to much class to run up the score. Look for the #2 group to play the 3ed quarter and the #3 group to play the 4th quarter. They could play 5 QBs if they want to.

Clinton will be better that last year but they are not ready for Maryville.

Clinton obviously is getting better, they only got beat by 28 points by OR. That means that Maryville, will only win by 42 points.

I heard that Quarles is nervous about this game. The thought of matching wits against Jason Phillips and Ritchie Marsh has him nervous.

Maryville will win but Clinton will play hard. I went to my brothers house yesterday to watch the Byrnes vs Glades game. When I open the door to my brothers house I was surprised to see George Quarles there. Him,his wife and his little boy was there. Him and my nephew exchanged game films.

At halftime of the Byrnes game we watched some film on Clinton. They had Oak Ridge on the ropes at the half. I expect Clinton to pull out all stops. But! Maryville will be too strong.

Maryville needs to get Tank Baker back to his old self. When Tyler Maples went down with cramps the Maryville offense wasn't the same. Maryville desperately needs Tank and Maples to be healthy..

Losing Justin Smith is devastating. I am sick of seeing key players get hurt for Maryville. Every year Maryville loses key players. In 1998,2000 and 2001 Maryville hardly had any injuries. Since 2002 Maryville has had a ton of injuries to key players.

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
