Our Nuns dressed in blue...we also had a few Fransciscan Nuns...all white...huge whimple (like the flying Nun)...I have a small scar on my cheek where a Nun grabbed my face and she accidentally stuck her nail in me...when I whined about it at home...I was told that I shouldn't talk in the hallway!!!...Wore the ugliest uniform ever...black, maroon, white and grey plaid...Knelt on the kneeler at Mass everyday so the Nuns could check the length...better touch the kneeler...or the ruler was applied to bare legs...We didn't miss school because of snow...we walked...the schools were all neighborhood based...Got to high school and was allowed to wear grey pants...thought I died and went to Heaven...

Our football team was coached by some great men...there were no parents giving advice...cause if they did...their kid sat...our field was like a cow pasture...horrible...across the interstate from the school...Things have changed...go take a look at the field...

I don't think you can tell from the picture...but the field is astro-turf...some kind of synthetic...the concession stand makes me drool...

And oh yeah...let me drop a name...Tyrell Sutton!!!

I loved my high school...feel like I got a great education...even named my dog after it...Hoban...BUT...I wouldn't give up my 21 years in public education for anything...I kinda like those Baptists and Methodists and all the other kids of varying religions... and I especially like SMITH COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL...

I know who Queen Bee is. Im talking way before her time. Back when the Nuns wore all black and white to teach. You werent Catholic you didnt attend. They lived the religion in school. Ruled with an iron ahhh ruler? Have seen the marks left behind. Back when the fish on every friday rule was enforced. They had tons of homework. Even in the cahtocism class. Did I spell that right? I have seen them standing nose to a pole outside for punishment for the entire recess. They were in school when we was out at times. Having to play with a tie on must have been fun. Things have changed now Im sure. Even when Queen bee was in school. I guess you can say I have been around long enough to see a lot of things. Most in here were not even born in the times Im speaking. Can you say, great Granpa? I remember the drop kick for extra points or field goals. Try that for 30 yards before you call someone a great kicker. Hightop metal cleats. Helmets didnt help much. They were heavy and cracked in the cold. Thats why I laugh at receivers with gloves. Sorta cheating to break records wouldnt you say? Yes things have changed. Even the cross body block is illegal. Didnt see a QB slide. Who can say they remember them days?

Didnt change much from when I was speaking and your days Bee. I have to admire you for telling what happened in school. I tried to keep that a secret. If it was found out I got punished in school. I got it again at home. Even the neighbors had permission to kick your butt. It takes a village to raise a child was in full force. I was raised in Fla. Not farmilar with the name. I come from Larry the cable guys home town. :thumb: Sanford Fla. No people dont act like that there. He is an excellent actor.

    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
