War Eagles
Sycamore hosts Dekalb Co. this Friday night at Ralph Spangler Stadium in a Region 4-3A matchup at 7:30. The War Eagles are 6-3 overall and 2-3 in the region and are coming off of a 32-27 victory at Macon County. Dekalb County is 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the region and they are coming off of a 25-12 loss against White House. If Sycamore wins this game, which they should easily, then they are in the Class 3A State Playoffs. Big Country
Sycamore can't just assume that they are already in the playoffs. They must take care of business this week at home against DeKalb Co. The Tigers have looked good at times this year. They've beaten Cannon Co., lost a close one to Upperman, lost a close one to Watertown, and played competitively in losses to White House & Greenbrier. The Tigers aren't just going to roll over and play dead for Sycamore and I'm sure Halstead is telling his team the same thing. If Sycamore comes out and plays with the passion that they must, seeing as how the playoffs are on the line, then they'll win by 3TD's. Big Country
Do you all realize that DeKalb Co. still has a shot at the playoffs as well????? They'd need for Macon Co. to beat a heavily injured and struggling Greenbrier bunch. They would then need to win their final two games over Sycamore & Macon Co. If that happens the race for #4 would go: 4.) DeKalb Co.: 3-7 (2-4): would hold head-to-head against Sycamore & Macon Co 5.) Sycamore: 6-4 (2-4) 6.) Macon Co.: 4-6 (2-4) 7.) Greenbrier: 3-7 (1-5) Yes it is crazy but Sycamore needs to realize that DeKalb still has something to play for besides pride as well
