I honestly believe that each player on both sides understand the importance of this game. These guy will show up to play, this will be a defensive struggle. I think this one will not produce more than 25 points total. The home crowd will make a big difference, but the home team must score points. Notre Dame's defense has played solid and has improved as the the year progressed. I go with ND 13-8. :P

Mr. Richts Cadillac Game Changers of the Game are...

For Polk- William Ledford... 5 td's v.s. the Chargers last game and he has carried this team.

For N.D.- Eberle #38- Great all around player and a great weapon.

For Polk- Tyler Davis... Great receiver and I look for Coach Davis to go to him more this game so the Cats can spread the field

For N.D.- The offense... If their offense can move the ball on the Cats and keep the clock on their side.... N.D. has this one

My predictions...

Polk 14

Notre Dame 10

I'm going to pack my rain gear and blankets, this could be as interesting for the folks in the stands as those guys on the field....Can anyone tell me how the visitors side seats are in this new modern complex?

Larry G. Davis Stadium is one of the finest in East Tennessee. It holds i'd say anywhere from 2200 to 2600 people, I'm gonna say 750-1200 visitors seats and the rest Wildcats Nation seats, or should I say Red Nation seats and also they have added two portable bleachers for the RED NATION in the north endzone which makes it loud.

The view of the mountain is gorgeous which you will see tonight I just wished it wasn't raining. The parking is good if you get there around 615-645 and then you have to park in grass (mud tonight). With the weather permitting i'm predicting a crowd of over 2600 people there tonight for this Region battle.

Go Polk

Final Score

Notre Dame 10

Polk County 7

Notre Dame drove the ball the length of the field and fumbled on the one yard line with the ball going out of the end zone for a touch back.

The Wildcats scored in the second half to make it 7-0.

With around 2:30 left in the first half the rain started pouring and the lightning bouncing. It was a great atmosphere for these young men to witness. At the start of half time the decision was made for a 30 min weather delay which tore the Cats momentum all to pieces.

The second half started rough for the Cats but a bat down by Tanner Davis on fourth down was what the Wildcats needed. The Cats couldn't do anything with it. Notre Dame then got it and threw a 29 yd pass to wide open #11 on the 5 yard line. The Irish then were on the board. P.C. 7 N.D. 7

Late in the fourth the Cats made a big defensive stand and got the ball back with roughly 2:30 left in the game. Polk failed on three straight passes and was forced to punt with just a little over 1 minute left in the game when a bad snap happened and the ball was tipped and recovered by Sam Eberle on the Irish 15 yd line. The Irish was stopped by the Cats and the field goal team rushed onto the field with just over 24 seconds left, when #6 for the Irish booted the field goal through with 5.2 seconds left on the clock.

Congratulations to Notre Dame on their 8-2 season and Congratulations to Polk County on finishing 7-3 and reaching the play-offs for the 6th consecutive year.

I am going to be unable to travel with the Wildcats to it looks to be Station Camp next Friday due to illness in the family so best to luck Cats!!!

First before ending notes I would like to Congratulate the Wildcat Seniors on their great effort and Willie Ledford for scoring 15 touchdowns in the regular season, Tyler Davis for finishing the year on I believe 22 receptions and 3 td's. It's been one heck of a year and I can't wait to see Haden Browder out there next year. Congrats

But this all has to come to an end somewhere and thats with TheEmpire signing off till next football season......... GOD BLESS EVERYONE and I can't wait till next fall.

Mr. Richts

GO POLK.... Keep the WINNING TRADITION ROLLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Polk on a hard-fought game. Haven't seen ND physically challenged like they were last night in a long time. They are usually on the giving end.

Liked the new facility, as well. Very nice. Good luck in the playoffs.
