From a coaching stand point, the loss we encountered Friday night can work out to be a good thing. The team got a good dose of reality and should now understand that preparation and effort are the main ingredients to a successful season. I think for the most part, the effort was there, but I don't think they were prepared for what J.b. brought to the game. Unfortunately we hadn't had to play from behind much this year and we didn't respond well.

I hope that game served notice to some of you guys on the sideline that you need to pay attention to what is going on all the time. I saw some subs come in and miss assignments on defense. You never know when your number will be called, so you have to prepare each week as if YOU will start. Know the plays, know the coverages, and know your assignments!

For all you MP fans that came to the game and are now running us down........You didn't see the same team I've watched all year. So please continue thinking how you are now and we'll take care of you in the second round!! :thumb:;)

We are just going by what we saw Friday night. All we saw was JB rub you in the mud.

Oxen, I think if you guys play up to your potential, Wayne County is only a bump in the road to where you want to get. You guys have as much potential as any team out there, but like any great team, you can't make the mistakes that were made last night. When I say "you", I'm referring to the whole team, not just you.

Your in the playoffs now and the cubcakes are gone. The best friend you can have at this point in the game, is a short memory. What I mean by that is, if you make a mistake, don't dwell on it. We had one player last night that thought he had a bad call go against him, and he was busy arguing with the ref. when the ball was snapped on the next play. That kind of stuff can't happen!! You also have to have a short memory when great things happen. If your too emotionally caught up in a big play that just happened, your going to miss an assignment or a block due to not being focused.

I'm still behind you guys, 110%, don't get me wrong. Learn from last night and don't repeat those mistakes. Come out with a fresh mindset Friday night and take care of business big Man!!

I agree with him. If cascade plays like they can then they can win by whatever they want. After seening both teams play the only way cascade will lose is if they give wayne county the game. I mean don't get me wrong obviously making the playoffs is something but (even though i don't like saying it)region 6a seemed weak this year and thats all teams. But i wish the best of luck to both teams.

dont all you reigon 5 fans underestimate reigon 6, it is not nearly as weak as you may think they have prob the best player in 1a in daily, and wayne county is a much much much better team than you may think turnovers kill them , when they dont turn it over they are pretty good very very young but good

I dont see Wayne County winning this game. I really dont think u guys are giving Cascade enuff credit, and i honestly think it is for 1 of 2 reasons. 1 u guys dont want to admit that Jo Byrns is that good, or 2. You guys dont want to admit that Region 6 will no longer dominate region 5. I may be wrong, u may just think that Cascade is bad, but if thats the case then u guys will find out ur wrong.

I am not trying to start things, everyone knows me, and i am not that kind of guy. But u guys werent on the field, and i thought Cascade was a very good team, but we just executed our game plan!! I hope Wayne Co. is better then last year, cuz this years Cascade would beat last years Wayne Co. by a couple of TD's.

    • This scenario resonates with the dynamics observed in my hometown of Hartsville. The undue influence of politics on high school sports remains a pervasive issue, detracting from the integrity of athletic programs.  The proliferation of individuals driven by a thirst for power inevitably precipitates the downfall of any program. It appears that we are currently grappling with similar challenges akin to those faced by Greenback. Please accept my condolences for your ordeal.
    • From what we are hearing on the reservation we will be lucky to beat sunbright. And trust me I am not throwing stones at them because they play their hearts out. It’s a tuff game every year, just like Oakdale but when you have small numbers that’s what you get. And then you add in that you loose two top linemen and the starting qb!!!! Along with a running back!  We are in deep trouble.
    • The coach's departure ensued due to the absence of backing from the board members, compounded by the unsettling revelation that one board member persistently surveilled him, verging on conduct akin to harassment. Furthermore, it appears that meeting the expectations of this community remains an unattainable feat, as even a hypothetical scenario of clinching five consecutive state championships would likely not suffice to quell discontent. The current situation is fraught with complications, primarily stemming from applicants for the position who have cultivated relationships with board members known to have opposed the former coach.
    • Yes it big when you only have 30 players last year and that is counting 8th graders it is huge!!!!!!! And this year they are starting a middle school team and the 8th graders will be on it. Until their season is over. That is a plus to having a K-12 school. The eighth graders can play on high school football. And yes we have used them a lot in the past few years.
    • Was the Coach fired? I thought I had read here or somewhere that he had elected to leave himself and pretty sure some folks on here had already been eluding to his departure well in advance of him actually acknowledging it. Or did the principal can him and then in turn get canned him/herself for this action?  From the sounds of it, i don't know if this or the Clinton situation is more of a mess.
