Ridgeway v. Wooddale

With Ridgeway squeaking one out against Germantown and Wooddale impressively dispatching Millington...who comes out on top in this one. Both teams will be severely tested on both sides of the ball. I think the key matchups will be: Ridgeway D-Line vs. Wooddale O-Line, Ridgeway secondary vs. Wooddale passing attack, Wooddale's Defensive front vs. Aaron Crawford and that big RHS O-Line...Memphis folks, what happens in this one?

I think if Ridgeway is able to pressure the Wooddale QB on a consistent basis it could be a long night for Wooddale, but if he has lots of time to throw, we may be in trouble! Our secondary will be tested more than it has all year. I think Ridgeway is a more disciplined team and this gives them an edge.

Either way, I just hope the game does not end up as ugly (sportsmanship wise) as it did last year.

GO BIG BLUE!!!!

It got ugly after the coach did his thing. He got 3 games off, I felt that the rest of the staff should have gotten something for what went on, no way they didn't know what was going on.

I'll get back about this game later, first a couple of things about last Friday.

On the punt you talked about. I always watch the snap to Jasper :) , this time I saw that boy, then I saw the snap, not the way it is suppose to go. I thought he was going to catch the snap and take it in?????

They had a 4th down, they passed, the receiver came back and dove to catch(??) the ball. Now I didn't have a clear look at the catch (??) but I knew it would have to be a good one. Now is when I don't understand what I think I saw. The ref placed the ball at where the boys knee was, moveing the ball to where it was a 1st down by a the nose of the ball. Did I see this wrong?

I was looking thru the camera lens on the punt and saw the Gtown guy go flying thru before the snap as well. As for the 4th down play, not sure I remember the exact play but isn't the ball supposed to be placed where the knee goes down?

I thought it was were the ball is when the knee touchs the ground. That is why so many players stretch the ball out before they hit the ground. He was going back toward the qb makeing his knees being closer to the first down line and the ball closer to the line of scrimmage.

I think it depends on the situation...for example: I believe that if a player's knees hit the ground while he is moving forward, even though he stretches it out his knees hit first and he is down when his knees hit...but if he is diving for the ball, and cathces it and his arms hit before his knees do, then i believe he is down when that happens. Im not sure, but thats what i think.
