On TSSAA Site Hampton has one championship and 2 runner-ups listed, don't know exactly how many times they have been to the state tournament.

"Note"

This fourm is only for questions directly to the players/coaches no discussion will be made unless it is a direct question to a player or coach. so unless there is a question than you will not be allowed to post on the board thank you ...

I sure can

P.S. You may want to step down from your position as "HHS Director of questions" if you think that Hampton has won 2,250 games and 7 state championships.

Thanx for the clarification on D-B. I know a lot about Hampton sports history, but not too much about D-B. I suppose the lesson here would be to stick to what I know about wouldn't it? Anyway, do you have any idea just how many times Hampton has made it to the state?

'60, '62, '81, '83, and '92... Those are the only ones I know of...

IN 1966 HAMPTON WAS 4TH IN THE STATE (IN 66 THERE WAS A GAME FOR 3RD AND 4TH PLACE). IN 73 WITH BARRY PHILLIP HAMPTON LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND. BARRY HAD A CAR ACCIDENT THE MORNING THE TEAM LEFT FOR K-TOWN . AND IN 1980 HAMPTON LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND. I ALSO THINK THEY WENT TWICE IN THE 1950S BUT I COULD BE WRONG ON THE 50S, HELP ME OUT BULLDOG FANS.

I cannot think of anymore. I know they should have won in 74 and my dad was telling me that they might could have made a run at it in 73 but it wasnt meant to be. Anyways, do u know where anyone could find any footage of Barry Philips, Kevin Ward, or the 1974 team????

You better watch out since this is for questions only and you people are stating facts. You'll get a big NOTE on your post. I think you need to take a chill pill if you think only people from Hampton are going to post and that SOME kind of discussion will not get started - GET REAL it's a chat board. DUH and I really don't think you are going to get coaches to answer questions on this board - players maybe. Don't worry last post on your precious thread.

This past week Kingsport won their 2000th game. This is a great mile stone for any basketball program. I know it would take 100 years at 20 wins a year to reach this record. Could anyone tell me how many wins Hampton's Boys basketball team has. Just guessing with Buck Van Huss and Jerry White alone the Number Should be over 1200. Is there any history buffs that could break the numbers down for each year?

Good luck and best wishes to all former, present and future Bulldogs

I FOUND TWO NAMES OF MEN WHO COACHED BEFORE COACH VAN HUSS. I CAN'T FIND OUT MUCH ABOUT EITHER, THEY ARE SAM HYDER AND HAROLD WILLIAMS. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE FIRST HIGH SCHOOL IN HAMPTON WAS BUILD IN THE 1890'S BUT IT WAS ONLY A TWO YEAR SCHOOL. CAN ANYONE FILL IN ANY HAMPTON HISTORY BEFORE COACH VAN HUSS?
