In the 2nd qtr, SH outscored Page, 17-11, as Brown hit 3 threes, Paul had 6, and Green had 2 while Page's Ford, Bowling, and Underwood each hit a three, and Crowell had 2 as SH led at the half, 29-23. In the 3rd qtr., both teams went cold as SH outscored Page 5-1 as Brown had 5 (1 three) while Page's Morton hit 1 of 2 FT's and Crowell missed 2 FT's as SH led after 3 qtrs, 34-24. In the 4th qtr, SH outscored Page, 15-9, as Brown had 8 (6 of 6 FT's) and Walker had 7 (3 of 5 FT's) while Page's Bowling had 5 (1 three, 0 of 1 FT's), Morton had 2, and Ford hit 2 of 3 FT's as Spring Hill won 49-33.

The keys to Spring Hill's win were Keturah Brown's excellent shooting from the field and line, Shirley Walker's good passing with 5 assists, and Jennifer Paul's rebounding with 18. Page kept it close in the 1st half hitting 4 threes, but the dreadful 3rd qtr with only 1 point made the deficit too great to overcome the remainder of the game.

hunt4, I haven't really been paying attention to District 9-AA either, but I think the top 4 are David Lipscomb, FRA, Ezell-Harding, and Pearl-Cohn in no particular order. District 10-AA's top 4 are Marshall Co., Lewis Co., Giles Co., and Spring Hill. There are a few district games left to play in both districts so the final seeding is yet to be determined and the "play-in" games will determine who advances to the Region 5 Tournament that currently appears will at Spring Hill. Seeding for the region tournament will be determined by district tournament finish. I'll try to get a more definite answer for you later after I do some research.

The District 9-AA schedules on coacht are incomplete so here is what "The Tennessean" has:

David Lipscomb..... 5 - 1, 17 - 4

FRA...................... 6 - 2, 16 - 5

Ezell-Harding......... 5 - 2, 9 - 12

Pearl-Cohn............ 5 - 3, 9 - 8

CPA....................... 4 - 4, 13 - 10

Hume-Fogg............. 1 - 6, 2 - 13

M.L. King................ 0 - 8, 1 - 14

Unofficial standings as of Wednesday January 24, 2007, 12:39 AM, sorted by conference winning percentage, overall winning percentage.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
