Rickman may be the 3rd seed, but I think that they have the best chance to beat Allons, the 1 seed. We played Allons close at our own gym for most of the game.

May be another Allons upset in the making....

I think Allons has too many weapons, but after what happened last year I guess anything is possible.

Whew! Overton, you were nearly right. I wouldn't have thought it could have ever been that close. Of course, as you said about the Allons girls, the same can be said for the Rickman boys. Everything they threw up went in. When your opponent starts banking in 3-pointers, you better watch out. But unlike you Overton, since I was for Allons, I didn't enjoy it. As you said about having one of your starters out, the Hawks got less than a quarter from one of their main guns. Fortunately, they were able to persevere. As in most cases when one of a team's better players is out, somebody has to step up and they did just that. I will have to say I was seeing visions of '06. Luckily, it didn't turn out the same way. Lastly, for the continued complaining about the holdbacks, the oldest kid on the floor played for Allons. The 2nd oldest kid played for Rickman. Just a little something the complainers might want to think about. Congrats to the Hawks. Nice way to go out for Alex, Hayden, Josh, J.W., and Kailen. 4 out of 5 tourney wins. We will miss you in hawk country.

You might want to recheck your birthdates.

Why does it matter? Like I said in another post, we should all be bigger fans of the kids. The reason I say we should all be bigger fans of the kids that play the game is because I heard about some of the comments that were yelled after the game.

I wish I could have stayed to see the game, taking a team like that down to the wire is something to be proud of.

Next year Allons won't have their freshmen, so I guess the fans won't have anything to complain about if they beat us then.

QUOTE(bballjunky @ Feb 26 2007 - 02:19 PM) 826390168[/snapback]Let see here, Allons best player should be a freshman and Rickman best player should be a freshman, so those two cancel each other out, now how many other kids on each team should be freshmen or has been held back a grade. I don't think Rickman had any more kids like that. Now would Allons like to let it be know how many is like that on their team. I would say not. So now you can see why kids like to go to Allons they can stay back and win a championship and be a grade school hero.

Or you can cry about what somebody else(Allons in particular) does. By the way, you said go to Allons and stay back, I wasn't aware that Allons was the only school in the county where staying back was an option. Thanks for the info. Past #1 and #15, who are the other Allons 8th graders who are holdbacks? Lastly, if you think the only reason a child gets held back is to win a championship and be a grade school hero, then you are even less intelligent than I first thought. There are different reasons kids stay back and they are not always sports related. Although, sometimes ballplayers are held back not just for playing ball. I guess Allons may be the only school where all their ballplayers are not honor roll students since they are the only school that has players that stay back.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
