The states this year have been exciting! Not putting it behind us or anything, but who do you think will be a big contender in next year state tourney? In AAA, AA, and A. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I have not looked to see what all the other districts have coming back next year. Of the ones I know a little bit about, it will pretty much be the same as this year.

District 11 should be a fight at the top between Santa Fe and Richland. Both should also be top 10 in the state all year with Richland starting 3 college basketball prospects in Glidden, Bell, and Duke. The question is, will any D11 team be able to get past region? Moore County should be third and could possibly upset either of the other 2. V.P. will be a senior with an attitude after a sub-par regular season this year. Although Moore County did get some satisfaction by getting to substate. If Moore County can have some success, V.P. could be top 10 for Ms. Basketball.

District 12 should be a 4 team cat fight. I would have to give the edge to Collinwood and then Senior Ms. Andrews. She will be a finalist for Ms. Basketball again next year unless they choose to have only one from each area again. Glidden should be one also. Perry County, Wayne County, and Summertown will all be tough.

District 7 will be tough from top to bottom. ClarkRange could have easily got to the finals with a break or two. They return everybody. Jackson County got to the final 4 with a very very young team. RBS will have super soph. Double L. She will probably be a finalist for Ms. Basketball again next year. 4th place, and possibly higher, could go to one of several other teams that are coming on strong. District's 7 and 12 should be the toughest top to bottom in the state.

I have heard talk that Lake County will be the team to beat out West. But do not count out the Super Coach at Gleason. I will post more as I study the other teams a little.

What does everyone else think?

I forgot to mention a team that has to be one of the favorites in the state next year.

The Forrest Lady Rockets will be back at 'Boro. Bet the farm on it.

They would have done better this year but they ran into a buzz saw named GLEASON.

One last comment. Call me crazy. Most do. Say I am a homer. I am. Say we have to get there first. I agree. But Richland would have had a better chance of beating Gleason than any other team at 'boro. But we did not take care of business to get there so all I can do is whine. And I am good at Whinning. Gleason looked GOOD didn't they!!!!!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
    • Let's get and support the Pirates in Murfreesboro.
