QUOTE(24/7lax @ Mar 30 2007 - 11:00 PM) 826426945If Franklin is so good, why aren't they in Division 1. It seems like the TSLA should look into that.

Franklin is good. They have great athletes and are well coached. They probably should be in D-1, but who have they played so far this year? Also the talent in D-2 dropped off by far from last year. It will be interesting to see how they finish this year. If you look at the schedule, its possible that they could only lose one game. If that happens, I don't see how they could stay in D-2 next year. I believe a back to back championship is eminent!

They play Ravenwood in 4 weeks. I predict Ravenwood by 10.

QUOTE(lax4life32 @ Mar 30 2007 - 06:44 PM) 826426765sure is and they lost 23-0 to west knox a few weeks ago and 2-17 to cookeville but they did beat signal mountain 7-5 (franklin's jv beat singnal mountain varsity 12-2)

Cookeville was leading the Cleveland game 14-0 at half. Then after halftime they put there jv in.

Go and take a look at Franklin and Ravenwoods first game. They played both played Louisville Collegiate an hour or two apart from the previous game and ravenwood won 13-4 and Franklin won 14-4. I wouldnt count out Franklin as not being able to hang with Ravenwood I think it will be alot closer than people have thought it would.

QUOTE(MiniShields @ Mar 31 2007 - 02:11 PM) 826427142i think franklin will lose to more teams than just ravenwood this year if they play D1 teams. who else in D1 do they play

Webb BB

USN

Ravenwood

Father Ryan

I don't see them losing to Father Ryan or USN. Webb could be close but i think Franklin should win but Ravenwood will probably be closer than most think. The Ravenwood game will be a good game to watch either way. oh and btw Franklin just beat Laussane 19 to 6

QUOTE(MiniShields @ Apr 1 2007 - 12:16 PM) 826427559i could see a franklin win over usn, potentially father ryan but probably not webb

I think Ravenwood is only team in Franklin's way to going undefeated and that game will be closer than you think. Don't underrate the Rebels, they are for real!

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
