QUOTE(baseball2009 @ Apr 14 2007 - 02:41 PM) 826437479Who are the best JV coaches in Middle TN who have the talent to step up to the next level?

Josh Horn and Travis Wilson are both fine JV coaches for Riverdale. Both are very young, (in early 20s), but the kids seem to relate well to them as well as respect them. I think they are both going to MTSU but not for sure. As far as the next level Josh Horn has signed a pro contract to play baseball. He was the 3rd baseman for MTSU last year. If that does not work out I think he would be a great one. Although he is not a JV coach but is a Middle School Head Coach Tony Sheffield of Christiana would be a great one as would Tobbitt from Siegel High.

QUOTE(back@home @ Apr 15 2007 - 08:40 AM) 826437781I agree Wilson and Horn are good coaches and fine young men as well. The game will be good to them!

Thats great that these two young men are doing such a great job.Do everything you can to keep them. At the high school level to have a coach that is truly there for the boys and not the extra money is far and few between. Great job Wilson and Horn.

Jeff Loveless, a former teammate of these two at Columbia State is doing a good job at Columbia Central. The future of mid state baseball looks bright with all of these good young coaches.

QUOTE(inappropriate87 @ Apr 16 2007 - 08:21 PM) 826438891who really cares about jv coaches. they are the jv coaches cause they wernt good enough to be varisty coaches.

First you're ripping the umpires and now the JV coaches. What is your problem? Your son having a bad year or something? I guess before you graduated to driving the "big rig" your previous experience in truck driving was taking "Susie" for a spin in your Chevy Luv truck. Or was it an Isuzu Pup? Everybody has to start somewhere and most JV coaches, like high school umpires, are doing it because they love it and want to get some experience and maybe someday move up to a higher level. Unlike you, who are obviously on top of your game. You need to get a life!

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
