QUOTE(sportalcholic @ Apr 24 2007 - 02:34 PM) 826444267[/snapback]Lincoln County had senior night last night and we passed the hat after telling everyone what we was doing. We had a great response and our girls wore lime green ribbons during the game. Lincoln Co girls said to tell Kayla she was in their prayers.

David Lipscomb collected some donations at our game today. Unfortunately, we didn't have much of a crowd but we did collect some. The girls are having a bake sale at school Thursday and Friday to raise money for Kayla. They all wore their green ribbons today as well. They will wear them all week and look wonderful. A lot of people asked why the ribbons and as soon as we told them remembered reading about Kayla in the paper. She is getting a lot of extra prayers this week. Let's keep it going.......

The Lady Green Wave of Gallatin and The Commandos of Hendersonville also last night raised about the same. I heard we are going to do it during our district tournament, we challenge eveyone else to do the same. Our prayers are with you and your family.

MTSCA has received a $200 check from the Page softball team and a check for $750 from the Lady Mustangs of David Lipscomb. We will add all of these together and present the family a check when all funds have been collected from all of the teams that are "Pitching in for Kayla". Thanks for your support.

That is so great! It's always amazing the way communities come together to help. The Lipscomb girls collected their money a quarter at a time by holding a bake sale where things were 25 or 50 cents. The students at the school came in waves to help Kayla. We learned at Lipscomb what the power of prayer can do when one of our girls was diagnosed with cancer so we know that power can help Kayla! Her family continues to stay at the front of our thoughts. Thanks to the MTSCA for organizing this and for giving all of us a specifice way to help the family.

MTSCA received a check from Collinwood Softball for $511.00 and check from Hume Foggs Softball for $160.00. When all money is in for Kayla we will send check to her foundation and let everyone know our total proceeds. This is a great help to her family. I talked with one of her coaches today and he said she is taking a rest from Chemo at this time to get strength up for end of school activities. Thank you coaches and all who are helping.

    • Glen Morton was the announcer for WGAP.
    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
