I agree with you BigG. That is the first time I have seen Tarr play. He is great and he can def. jump. He got his head on the ball almost everytime Farragut kicked it near the box. I couldn't see the play too well where Ben ended up getting a card for "talking to the ref", as I call it. I'm pretty sure it was when Russell for Farragut fell down in the box with about 3 CAK players around him. I didn't really think it deserved a PK, but like I said, I couldn't really see it. I'm still a little disappointed because the 2 Farragut games I have been too they have been winning then they end up with a tie.

The Farragut goal was great. I thought CAK's goal was nice too. Most of the Farragut students felt like the keeper should've had it, but it was hard to tell. It almost looked like all he had to do was jump for it and he woulda caught it, but maybe he just thought it would go over the goal. I dunno.

It was still a great game.

Edit: Dins to me it seemed like those numbers are about right. Farragut had the ball in the box a ton of times in the 2nd half and didn't even get a shot off. IMO those numbers are pretty close to what it was.

At times it felt like it was 200 to 5!

My stats said 15 to 6 in Farragut's favor, so 20 to 5 seems about right.

Farragut's keeper couldn't have saved it (or at least it would have been amazing if he had) He was a bit off his line, and Pifer hit it on the down bounce, so the thing dipped over the keeper and under the bar.

The best chances we had in the second half were off of counter attacks. We almost tucked one in with Pifer getting saved, and Burnett almost looping it in back post. The crowd was great! Lots of oohs and ahhhs! Should be a fun one to watch on tv!

When does it come on TV? What channel? Sorry if I am ignorant on all this; it's the first I have heard of this.

Big G,

One thing I heard our coach tell the newspaper guy is that he and you were very good friends and relied on ach other. That is great coaches feel that way. Coach always trys to teach us to play as we not me and to be a team and we are doing much better but still need to score. I am glad Coach has a friend like you that he repects so much, he always tells us good tings about you. That is one thing I like about Coach he lives what he preaches. It was a great game and we are tired too.

QUOTE(BigG @ May 3 2007 - 09:55 PM) 826451195[/snapback]Elmer, good call on this one, too! You got the Catholic game wrong, though... (I guess you can't win them all /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )

Ha Ha! Yeah, but 3-4 aint too shabby, especially getting the score right on 2 of them.

Not so flattering picture of the young Pifer lad in the paper today... rather humorous.

Good luck in districts!

I count coach Culbreth as a very good friend. We have developed a great relationship over the past 5 years of my coaching here in Knoxville. I find it funny that he uses my "quotes" and I use his "quotes" when we talk to our teams.

I have never felt more proud of Coach Culbreth than when I was honored to go to his daughter's funeral, and he stood up and took the time to really share with his former players the importance of his daughters life and her faith. He is a true champion in my heart, regardless of how his soccer team does this season.

My boys are tired, too, but not just from the game. Most of my "children" thought it would be a good decision to go to the midnight showing of Spider Man 3. Practice should be a fun one today. I was thinking about wall drills... /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Great! haha I wish I'd gone. But something to look for next week is that Andrew Moser will be playing for Farragut on Monday vs William Blount. He has sat out the whole season due to transfering schools. He suspension ends this coming week.

Farragut needs scores, is Moser a forward? Won't he be rusty? Is Holt playing or is he hurt??

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
