Hamby tweaked his Knee last year in a Full contact camp and after that Coach Davis moved him to play guard for pulling purposes. Just keep your eye on him this year. As for the line, they will really need to step it up /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> . Coach Shoemaker has done a good job this summer getting more kids out, they have got a few new kids that are pushing 250 that can make a big difference if they can get the mental aspect down /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> .

What kind of offense and defence will the dogs run this year? Has the new coach

already been working with team this summer?

The new coach is not yet in town. He was working at the Football Camp at the Air Force Academy. Seems that he will be in town and working on some of that stuff in July.

As for what they run, word is there will be an entirely new system put in on both sides of the ball. Everyone is eager to get started. Word around the weightroom is that after the dead period, ( yeah there is one mandated from on high even in Coalfield) the real work of skill development and installation will begin.

It will be interesting to see just how the new program takes shape.

Yep, Coalfield observes the "dead period". The school is closed to students, a note is posted on the door to not be on grounds for workouts, and Coach K. takes a long and well deserved 2 week vacation after winning all those games last year. At the end of the period coal is poured on the boiler and things start smokin' again. Now please do continue your discussion of your upcoming football season. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

Yeah Wartburg will be different on both sides of the ball. It will be quite interesting to see how this all plays out. I can’t wait for the new season.

Coach Bangley sighting!!!! Saw and talked with Coach Bangley yesterday. He and Principal Davis were touring the facilities and looking over a couple of projects. When I spoke with him, he said he was eager to get here and get started. He spoke about spreading the field and throwing the ball. That may match up with the skill people that are back for Wartburg. He was a NAIA national champion QB at Elon back in the early 80's. That may be a good fit.

It will be interesting to see. I heard the Bulldogs will be in a 3 way scrimmage at Oakdale. Any truth to that??? Heard Sunbright will be there too. Sounds like a MC jamboree in the making. Interesting if true.
