A/AA schools have low enrollment, so they don't get to choose from a very big pool. They are fortunate if they have a few good players in their zones, since they don't have the enrollment of AAA schools. You can only go to these schools if you live in their small school zone. However, if a good player, wherever he/she may live, wants to attend one of the private schools, they can. Get one or two of these players and automatically you are one of the best A/AA teams in the state as long as you don't give financial aid?

 

If a pretty good player lived in an A/AA zone, and could afford to attend a private school, why stay in your zoned school if you could challenge for a championship by going private?

i say give the private schools a zone and if they have anyone playing athletics outside that zone they are AAA or they are private they choose but i bet they go AAA

That defeats the purpose of a private school.

 

Edit: Privates have a zone. It just happens to be a little bigger than the publics zone. No one from outer space is allowed.

yes some teams may be historicly better than others and yes a good majority of those team are private but no matter if they are private or public they are all still playing for that A/AA State Championship and there for are all on the same level. so can we get back to the subject, A/AA 2008, who will go to the state tourny (top 8)

if that defeats the purpose than what is the purpse of a private school i would say a better eduction with smaller class sizes

 

with extremely large benefits athletically over the publics but it is ok you all keep winning baseball and soccer state titles but knowing that you all should be playing better compitition when it comes to these tournaments CAK tied Farragut this year and now why should they not be in their division when it comes to the tournament it would make more parity in soccer cause there is none right now it is CAK Catholic and Bearden and Farragut and i am sure in a few years things will change but as for now there is a problem but no one is willing to step up and fix it

I know this belongs on the public/private thread but I have to comment. What do Farragut, Bearden, Catholic and CAK all have in common? Add West HS and Webb to the list and you have 95% of the kids that play competitive soccer for the Impact, Smoky Mountain and KFC competitive teams. Three very good soccer clubs that call West Knoxville home. That is why those schools are successful in soccer. That has nothing to do with public vs private or even the size of the schools.
