Best Defense/Defender in the State

I think you have to consider CAK, they only let up one goal in states. The most goals they gave up in a game was i think 2 or 3 (not counting the pk shoot-out against Catholic). They only gave up like 17 goals in the season (correct me if I am wrong but I know it was somewhere in the teens). Just my opinion.

QUOTE(SoccerOnTheRise @ May 31 2007 - 09:56 AM) 826469564[/snapback]Often we talk about forwards, midfielders etc... and defense often gets no credit. Just look at the past post over the past year. No defender talks. Who had a great defense this year?

CBHS stats: 25 games; 64 SOG; 13 goals

Gotta hand it to Baylor - they played great defense when it counted in the finals.

Baylor. Incredible stats and I don't think anyone in the state has done better. Played 19 games and allowed only 5 goals all season. Allowed only 1 goal during state. While the offense struggled at times during the season the Baylor defense kept them in it at all times. Senior Michael Deere, Juniors Andrew Roden, Chris Wilson and Sophomore David Burt. Junior goalie Danny Van Valkinburgh. 5 goals in 19 games.....amazing!

Can't argue with Baylor and their defense. Just a tremendous year that no one can argue with. Only 5 goals and return 3 defenders and the goalie next year. They all defended well and I have to say that Andrew Roden is so strong as a back and his throw in is the strongest that I have seen bar none. Danny Van Valkinburgh at goalie is amazing. I don't know of a better goalie.
