papa-K
OK... we all know that top to bottom, 11AAA is the most competitive in the state. Never more illustrated than when Ravenwood made it's run to State last year. Will there be any surprises this year? Is Brentwood as good as all the love they are getting from the "Poll Master"? Let the "banter" begin!

tiger68
For a number of years, 11AAA has been one of the hardest, if not the hardest, district/region in the state to come out undefeated due to the strenghth of the top 3-4 teams each year. There have been more State Championships won by teams in this district than any other public school district in the state. No other district is even close. Canesoverhere
I think I'm missing your point Canesoverhere. What are you trying to say? I guess I misunderstood the original post. I was poking fun at the first sentence of the post, not the second sentence. All in good fun of course.

All in good fun of course. The intent of the post is that you can take the a team that does not even make the semis in the 11AAA tourney and make the finals in many, if not most district tourneys. That team would have been Independence last year. Consider that IHS beat Centennial and lost to Bearden (State Champ) 1-2, and you have a hard time debating the "top to bottom" statement. I will agree that the 11AAA teams have uner-achieved in Chattanooga the past few years. But make a better argument for another district. An off night or an untimely injury can turn the top five 11AAA standings upside-down. Ask Brentwwood & Centennial!

I am assuming you don't retire for a few decades. I can't even imagine what other team in 4AAA could pull of an upset of Bearden or Farragut. That is the case with almost any other district in the state. Two "Goliath's" and a bunch of hopeful "Davids".
mjuhb
where is alyssa curtis going to school let me give a example of the craziness of 11AAA last year shelbyville beat centennial 6-1 then centennial turns around and beats brentwood 2-0 and finally brentwood kills shelbyville 7-1 tullahoma got beat by all 3 teams(3-0 shelbyville, 2-0 centennial scrimmage and 1-0 brentwood)i thought brentwood was better than the other 2 teams just think how hard my job is
kickgrass
I agree that it is top-bottom strength. When you have 5 teams that can win and/or pull the upset and advance (Franklin, Brentwood, Centennial, Independence and Ravenwood), that makes the season very interesting. Is there another district with that type of strength? Anyone know the real reason that Charlie West was let go as the coach at Ravenwood? The Principal said that she was getting rid of non-teaching coaches.

I know that WCS is putting the heat on all scholl admin. folks to push for teachers to be the first choice for the secondary sports to cut down on cost and liability. Wouldn't surpise me if the push is for all TSSAA sports to have county faculty coaches w/in the next 2 years. no they were cutting down on coaches who work for other school systems you can still have non-faculty coaches
