Souths backs did not have much success against SHHS's defense. Carr had NO success against SHHS's defense. Solomon had no success against South's defense. Curt had no success rushing against SHHS's defense. I don't see how you can come away from this with a belief that Carr is a superior back. Solomon proved his worth last year so all it says is that South's defense contained him. It will be interesting to see who else can contain him if anyone. Carr had 100+ yrds. rushing against HV. So. Maybe they should play Indian Trail. Carr may be a good back but it will take a bit more evidence for me to be convinced of it. South has a RB with much potential but is unproven as of yet. So until there is proof it is just conjecture. There are 3 other potentially good backs in the MLC. None with any credintials yet. You can cut it two ways but only one will wash. You can cry that Solomon had a bad game or you can give South's defense credit. We could cry something I guess or as has been stated we could give SHHS credit for having a good defense. You can cry that Carr had no blocking or you can admit that SHHS's defense is superior. I don't see ANY RB in NET having much success against SHHS's defense. Period. Now if you have gut instinct feeling that a RB is top shelf then fine...but he must prove it. I will reitierate that running out of the spread is not the most condusive offense to a RB's success. In fact it is virtual suicide. If a RB has success out of the spread then it can be assumed that from a traditional running set (i.e. Wing T, Power I, Wishbone, etc) he will be a whirlwind. The bottom line is that in NET Christian McFall and Solomon Duanah are the only proven RB's in 4A and 5A. And the other fact is SHHS has a top shelf defense and depending on performance going forward South potentially has a top shelf defense. We will see what develops.

I'll have to say that Hogg from DB has looked real good this year . I look forward to seeing the fine backs SHHS has,it will be a big chalenge for our defense.

Hogg has potential but is still unproven. A bit longer before he is proclaimed top shelf. There are plenty of good RB's in NET. We are talking about exceptional backs. Hoggs test will come when he has to run against SHHS.

Compusat......... I don't think anyone is 'crying' that Carr has no blocking. It is totally visible, without a doubt. It is a similar situation that has dogged the Cyclones for the last few years. Lack of disipline in the weight room and on the practice field. They have had the size and a couple have done well at 'combines', but they don't hit at combines. I do see a change coming but not overnight. It will take a few years to 'wear in' the change. Now if that's crying........

Atop that, Duanah is, hands down, the best running back I've seen in the area. Sorry dude but you guys definately hold that title at QB this season. Good luck!

Who is Christian McFall? By the way...I said best in the MLC not NET. There is a difference.

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
