Game Report: DCA came to play and virtually shut down CPA's run and short passing game, but turned the ball over 6 (I think) times and had a critical penalty on 4th down giving CPA a 1st down and allowing them to get out of their end of the field. CPA QB Lowery made some great long throws, the CPA receivers again made some tough catches and CPA had enough big plays to put the game away, despite probably over 100 yards in penalties.

1st quarter: DCA kicks off, stuffs CPA on first series, but fumbles punt to allow CPA to get an early FG. CPA 3-0

CPA scores again after a DCA turnover on some nice pitch and catch, but DCA's defense really takes away the run and short passing game. CPA 10-0.

2nd quarter: DCA takes advantage of penalties and sacks backing CPA to the goal line, where CPA gets called for holding in the end zone. CPA 10-2

Just before half, CPA completes another long TD pass. CPA 17-2

2nd half: DCA finally puts together a drive without turning the ball over after receiving the 2nd half kickoff and scores. CPA 17-9

CPA's offense continues to stall due to DCA tough defense and penalties. DCA completes a long pass to the 5 yard line, then scores a few plays later despite good goal line D by CPA. The 2 pt. conversion pass is dropped by the DCA receiver. CPA 17-15

4th quarter: CPA appears stopped when Lowery fumbles the snap on 3rd and long at midfield, but he picks up the ball and finds All-State receiver Weir alone down the field for a TD. CPA 24-15

CPA's defense really turns it on in the 4th quarter and on 4th down on DCA's 40 and 2 minutes left, they forego the punt and Lowery finds Weir (who makes an incredible catch over the defender) to the 1 yard line. Lowery sneaks it in for the TD. Final CPA 31-15

This game was really closer than the score and these 2 teams are not far apart. DCA played great D, but made too many mistakes to win. CPA really never got their offense on track, had lots of penalties, but were able to make enough big plays to win.
