According to Stephen Hargis of the Times-Free Press if there is not a sports writer covering the game then they rely on the home team to call in with the scores and stats. However; he does advise the visitors to call in as well just in case the home team doesn't. You can read about it here http://www.timesfreepress.com/absolutenm/t...8&zoneid=46

 

 

We have our own system of reporting stats to avoid the uncertainty of relying on the home team. We have one guy who does defensive stats and one who does offensive stats

I don't know about that. SPitt is a community high school with plenty of fans and tradition. DB is a private that competes with at least 3 other schools within a 10 mile radius for community support (BB, Grace, and SD.) On top of that DB parents spend thousands of dollars/year just to send their kids there. A lot of them don't have much extra money to invest in a football program.

 

Old Pirate says SP has 2 High Schools (SP & Richard Hardy) with jasper 9 miles away and Bridgeport Ala 7 miles away. OP says SP has a loyal fan base, and has been blessed with a "handful" of strong supporters that are willing to go the extra mile to see our kids have the best possible. OP says Zone Pirate is one of the current ground pounders.

WE ALL should be thankful for their efforts.

      I just saw on 5 Star Preps that Chaston Smith is transferring to Chattanooga McCallie. McCallie and Baylor are loading up. Baylor got UT commit Joakim Dodson and Former Alcoa player Kolby Barrett. They also got a bunch of other transfers.

      The lamentable departure of the esteemed coach, orchestrated by certain board members whose intellectual acumen leaves much to be desired, is a matter of grave concern. It is worth noting that these individuals, paradoxically invested in overseeing the educational welfare of others while opting for homeschooling for their own progeny, have effectively precipitated this regrettable outcome. One can only surmise that the repercussions of their actions will reverberate for an extended period, casting a pall over their respective tenures. Such consequences are indeed a cross they shall bear.

      In my humble assertion, I find it imperative to clarify that my personage was not among those counted. Regrettably, the departure of Coach Blake Satterfield did not augur well for the program's trajectory. It is with a tempered sense of admiration that I regard the individual of fortitude who dares to embrace this challenging mantle, for they shall undoubtedly encounter formidable obstacles in their quest to satisfy the less discerning denizens of Hartsville. May the fates smile upon Blake Satterfield in his forthcoming endeavors.

      Do you reckon this action demonstrates sound judgment? Whom do you propose as the most fitting candidate to assume the esteemed position of assistant principal at the middle school?
