No dog in this race but my god. Out coached, out played and fumbles. Cant do that. If you cant hold on to the ball, find someone who can. Passing game looked worse than first game. 3 man front needs to go. Coaches made no adjustments to contain the guys. Have more to say but rather not. Hope the guys get ready for next week. Maybe they can come back after this and win.

I agree with some of that but defensive sceme is good. Brainerd said that it was payback time before the game and they provided that. Last night Brainerd just figured out how to avoid the blitz. They would delay the hand off and as soon as the linebackers came through on the blitz the 2 great running backs would go right through were the linebacker was. I stated it earlier in the week they need to contain and we just didn't have the speed to match brainerd and contain them. We didn't tackle well at all and Brainerd's players were so good at breaking tackles it was almost unbelievable. They also took advantage of the size difference between Harris 6'3 and Hackler 5'6. Speed simply won over last night. Brainerd maybe the fastest team per position than any team in the state. They by far have the best receiving group in chattanooga. The fumbles killed us the first 3 fumbles brainerd turned into 22 points. Chris and Julian both had bad nights thanks in a large part to Brainerds lighting fast and physical defense. Swafford did have a bad night but that was the first time all year that they tried to throw the ball down field and not the short and middle routes that Rhea normally runs. Brainerd is for real the wins over Cleveland, Tyner, and now us, are legit. Watch out Red Bank and anybody else that will see Brainerd. They are loaded and not afraid to use every player on that 39 man roster. They maybe better than Maryville right now. But Brainerd has to stop committing so many penalities they had 17 fouls for 135 yards last night.

I know there is alot of mad and frustrated players in Rhea County right now. Hopefully that translates into more intensity on the pratice field and the game next week. Because they lacked intensity last night. I will say even though the score didn't reflect it Rhea still had 400 yards in offense so they can move the ball they just couldn't finish the drives and not fumble. Now that that is off my mind time to focus on a really good McMinn who runs the same style offense as Brainerd but they are no were near as fast as Brainerd.

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
