Smyrnas defense has really turned it up a notch. They run to the ball as good as anybody I have seen and are really good sideline to sideline. They have posted 2 shutouts and have only given up 14 points in the last 10 quarters.

Smyrna's offense is as balanced as they come right now especially with the emergence of the freshman Jeremiah Bryson. He runs like a 200 pound backand has a chance to be the best tb in smyrna history.

The off week got everyone healed up and smyrna will go into the game 100% including sonny. Sonny being 100% showed last week against gallatin. Smyrna scored on 7 of 10 posessions missed 2 short fgs and punted once)

Other than Lavergne I don't beleive oakland has played anyone that spreads the field like smyrna does.

Smyrna does throw the ball down field more than lavergne (who likes short passes to let the wr's run and get yards after the catch) so that will be a little different than what they have seen.

Oakland will do what they are committed to and that is run the wing t and try to control the clock and keep smyrna's offense off the field. That is why even of smyrnas offense is going well it will be difficult to put up a lot of points.

Oakland can not afford turnovers in this game like they have had the past few games because those will lead to points.

if oakland can run the ball and not turn it over thay have an excellent chance to win if they turn the ball over Smyrna will roll.

right now

smyrna 28

oakland 10

well the lambergheni needs a fresh coat of paint or atleast to be polished or something, its 4-2. i would actually compare riverdale to a chevrolet silverado...powerful, huge, reliable, made in the USA and LIKE A ROCK /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I hope that there are no recalls on that Silverado.

bdogg, I know you think this game is going to be a piece of cake for Smyrna, but how about you quit looking ahead to Riverdale all the time? You only beat us by 6 pts last yr.....oh yeah that's right.......you wouldn't know that though would you? You were all about Riverdale last yr /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Does Smyrna have a good kicker this yr?

Once and for all partner, I am not who you think I am. I don't know coach wine, but I hear that he is a good guy. I do know that you guys are far from being world beaters at this time. That is really what losing does to you. You know, getting ready for the b-ball.

great day of practice yesterday

Sonny was throwing great and the wr's caught everything thrown their way. The week off seems to have really helped and we seemed to have fresh legs and arms yesterday.

defense - practice is always turned up when you play a wing t team. the good news is we play 3 out of 4 late in the season so there is plenty of film out there. Everyone knows how the basic wing t works it is those extra plays especially on passes you have to prepare for. playing these teams late and seeing those plays helps prepare for them.

The talk all week has been the playoffs start this friday and I can sense the urgency from smyrna knowing the have to win 2 of 4 just to get in.

the sad part is at least one and maybe 2 very good football teams may be left out.

smyrna expects oakland to throw caution to the wind knowing win or else. They may fake punts try an on side kick run reverse passes or flea flickers so smyrna is expecting all of them at some point.

They will get their butts whipped in basketball too. Tyler Cutter is the king of the district and hasn't forgotten their trashy student section.

    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
    • They struggled to field a team last year. I don’t see them being much better?
