MrTSSAA
I was wondering who has had some the longest winning and losing streaks of all time..... I know that on the winning side Maryville HS has 51 wins in a row. Also on the losing side Red Boling Springs had a bad losing streak for a while (can not remember exactly how many) What are some other freakishly long streaks you know of... jangel
Both Hoover and Independence have losses this season I believe. These records could likely be found on the TSSAA site.

I believe Independence lost this year in one of the Ohio vs. USA games.
warrior4ever
As far as losing, doesn't Kirkman (school closed down) form Chattanooga hold the longest losing streak in TN history. Back in the late 80's they even made SI for having the second longest losing streak in America... then defeated Taft to break that streak. I believe they hold the losing record for TN, but could be wrong. However, give Cumberland County High School time, they are gaining. They have not won a game since year before last and have not even played a game close this year.

warrior4ever
lol you just have some kind of grudge against CC don't you? I actually like Crossville a great deal. They just can't play high school football right now and the folks up there either won't admit it or they don't know enough to admit it one. I remember the days of Curt Watson, Dana Winningham, and others and when C.W. Pemberton was winning every year. I would like to see that again, as I like to see all schools in the area being competitive and the kids playing hard and getting something out of it. Not just going through the motions and learning nothing about the game or about life. Just the facts...Losing teaches nothing but to lose! Sorry for this post on a thread where it does not belong, but that remark needed to be answered.
duckman38201
Well, probably no one on here will pick this streak up because of who it was/is. But, from the '62 season thru into the '64 season lil' ol' Gleason had a 22 game undefeated streak. That's not any kind of record or anything but, an amazing fact for Gleason. I'm not from Gleason but, have a very good reason for remembering this. Notice it was an "undefeated" streak not a winning streak (still amazing for Gleason!!!!) I live in and at that time played for McKenzie 6 miles down the road from Gleason and played in all three of the games that McKenzie played against Gleason those three seasons. The McKenzie team in '62 was the last team to beat Gleason at the start of the streak (27-13), McKenzie was the only team that Gleason didn't beat during the "undefeated streak" in '63 (0-0 tie) and McKenzie was the team that defeated Gleason to end the streak (20-13) in '64. At the end of the '63 season when we tied 0-0 McKenzie ended the season ranked 14th in the state (that was all schools--we didn't have classes then) and Gleason was close behind us in the top 20 in the state!!!!!!! Even though it was "only" 22 games, there are a lot of teams around that never have come close to that. Since there are very few folks on here from Gleason especially that will remember that far back, I just wanted to do our neighbors in Gleason a little favor because it's worth mentioning that the Bulldogs did accomplish that back then.
