Tullahoma, once again wins a game late in the 4th quarter against a Stratford team I thought was much better than their 1-6 record indicates. Tullahoma wins 21-14 to remain unbeaten in Region 5-4A at 3-0 and 5-2 overall. The Spartans had two touchdowns called back because of penalties. Stratford has some skilled athletes and one of the best kickers I've seen this season. They played one of the toughest non Region schedules in the state, but Tullahoma just seems to find a way to win the close games. To be honest, I hope the Cats are still in the game next week at Maplewood late in the 4th quarter. That game will be broadcast live on www.fantasyradio.com.

Congrats to the Wildcats on your win tonight, good luck against Maplewood next week! Did that running back finally graduate for Maplewood that gave Tullahoma fits in the past couple of years?

 

Terrence Holt is the young man you're talking about and yes he graduated and I think is playing college football for Austin Peay. I may stand corrected on the college, but he is playing somewhere at the next level. Maplewood is still a powerhouse football team and should win against Tullahoma, but who would have thought Stanford, a 41pt underdog, would win at USC. Who would have thought Moore Co would go to Mt Pleasant and win last night. Maplewoods defensive coordinator, Doris Armstrong, was at Tullahoma last nite scouting the Wildcats. Coach Olive compared Maplewood to Lincoln Co, except he thought the Panthers had more overall speed. The Wildcats worst loss of the season last year was at Maplewood.

      I grew up watching Greene Devil Football since I could walk and still close with a lot of the coaches so should know my history pretty well lol.  Everything worked out the way it should have but firmly believe McCurry would have won some State Title if he wouldn't been let go (Greeneville still runs the same D he brought here and he let Ballard run the O and stayed out of it when it came to calling plays.  Greeneville was put out in the Semi's McCurry's last year against Maryville and the next year Greeneville stayed in 4a and was State Runner up playing were they were placed for the first time by the TSSAA.). It was definitely a McCurry and Ballard show that turned everything around along with the Community buying in and revamping the weight room and field house. Since Ballard got promoted to HC every Coach after him has been within the Greeneville Coaching staff because your right, they know what it takes to win a state championship.  Ballard was a master mine on O and what i think Greeneville has lacked since he left and let some Championships or making it to the Championship slip away over the last few years
