Portland question

I have three questions. Who are all the Portland baseball players playing summer ball with? Do they all play together or do they play on different teams? How many of those kids are playing college baseball, particularly their best pitcher (Ray)? I heard that their shortstop was going to Western Kentucky.

Both Philip Thayer (shortstop) and James Ray (pitcher) play for The Shoetiques Baseball Club out of Nashville. They finished third in the AAU Nationals last year. Thayer has signed with WKU. Each player on the team will sign with someone by end of season. Eight signed so far.

We Played a team saturday in Westmoreland from Portland. They had a tough day, DeKalb 29 Portland 2

DeKalb hit 5 Home Runs, including 2 from Destin Farr, Junior from DeKalb High.

Portlands team just had a bad day, but looked like they were good players.

DeKalb also beat a team From Westmoreland 7 to 2

Almost none of the portland or westmoreland highschool players play in that league. They all play on either post 17 in Gallatin or Dixie youth or Shoetiques, Wilson co. Athletes.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
