hrdcrwrestler
Nick Maxwell (Karns) /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> , will be wrestling at 103. He's just a freshman. It would be a guess to try to predict the 103 class this year. lots of talent to beat to get to the big show /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> . [/quote Mr Maxwell, This is the 5th attempt to get your sons name in the mix The topic is who are the returning allstars, and since your boy did not wrestle in High School last year, I know this because he rassled my young-un in a middle school tournament. he would not be considered a returning starter, from what little I know about rasslin. Do you still play in the band, Cause you are a heck of a horn tooter. bcb iii /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Tommy Boone
2blLeg
The Middle schoolers you have named are very good and can go with anybody. ANYONE? Doing well in middle school, and doing well in high school are two totally different animals. Yes, having a good background from the middle school level sure helps in the progression needs to occur in high school, but just because a kid has a good middle school career, does not instantly make them a stud in high school. There are so many factors that will come into play. Remember, a freshman is usually 14 years old, and wrestling an 18/19 year old man is a whole different story then they have seen. In middle school, you wrestle kids within a year or two of your age, not a 4 or 5 year span. So let's sit back and wait and see. yes some will do well, but many will struggle for a year or more, and those that can survive that struggle may be the ones we are talking about in a couple years. wosbodog
Division II is where the middle schoolers have a shot
jakesdad
High School wrestling is different (harder) than Middle School. But I agree with Raider76 on this one. The kids mentioned (Watson, Hooker, Gardener, and there are others) can go with anybody in High School - DI, DII, TN, GA, AL, etc.
2blLeg
Division II is where the middle schoolers have a shot What gives them a better shot? Are you saying that the wrestling in DII is not equal to that of DI?
ghouse
Division II is where the middle schoolers have a shot You are a smart kid but once again should choose your statements more wisely. Did an 8th grader also not win a DI state championship last year? Now if you want to speak to the fact that they have a better shot at starting in DII that might be true because more DII schools are set-up such that the rules allow the 8th graders to compete at the varisty level. Tthere are few DI schools that meet the criteria otherwise you might find a few more starting.
