Old Pirate says the talk around town is SP will start an annual Bowl game for the Jr.High. The proposed name being tossed around is the Cornbread Bowl. OP does't know who is the brain thrust behind this game, but it would be a great thing. "OP SAYS, GET-ER DONE.

OP says perhaps posting these possablities on coacht will generate some exposure and interest. OP wonders.........

why they didn't start it this year with all the success the jr. high had? OP says nothing but good could come from this type of game. Perhaps the QB club will take this suggestion and run with it. It could/would be a great fund raiser for the high school program.

OP says, "IF YOU'RE NOT THE LEAD DOG,THE SCENARY NEVER CHANGES"

I tried to get the game up and Pratt coined the name Cornbread Bowl. Couldn't find anyone to play us. Talked to Grace, Boyd and McCallie. They all ended football a couple of weeks before we did so they were already into soccer, etc. We will start working on it earlier next year and maybe get Lodge involved. We really just started too late this year

How would that work? The winner gets a big old skillet and the loser gets whacked with it. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Call Ooltewah. They finished last Saturday. Try Cleveland High also. I'd love to see a game between a Grider coached team and a Wilson coached team. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Old Pirate says Grider doesn't coach the jr. high football team @ SP. OP is quiet sure Cleveland is a 9-12 school.

My mistake. have him contact Donnie Yates at Cleveland Middle. Or maybe Blake Beard at Lake Forest in Cleveland. They had finished last Saturday with a huge tournament.

If we had known and had more time we would have been happy to take on a bigger school. We scrimmaged Red Bank, Soddy-Daisy and Chattanooga Christian this summer and pretty much manhandled them all. Unfortunately we finished our season on October 18 and would have liked to have played the following week (Oct 25). We have taken up equipment and haven't practiced in over 3 weeks so it isn't going to happen this year. Hopefully we can work something out next year
