I think they are all too busy making others bow down. FCS @ South Pitt should be a good ballgame. I saw FCS play against Gordonsville in Possumtown and I saw them play Trousdale on the Creekbank. Tonight, marked my 4th SP game this season. Both teams are quality teams and I have my opinion on which one is better, but I will keep it to myself for now. Only one thing is for sure in this one. Someone WILL bow down, but who will it be? Both teams have coaches that are Living Legends in their respective rights. Which one will be victorious and which one will go down?

Legend,

I think I know who your better team is. That said, I think this will be a good HS football game.

Too early for prediction for me.

All i can say to FC is good luck and you better eat your wheaties!!! That was probably the fastest overall team i've ever seen not the best but probably the fastest. I've seen alot of great football teams over the years and i've seen alot of good football teams over the years. I would classify this pirate team as very good and exremely fast. I thought the 98 and 99 teams from SP were great not as fast as this years but more fundamentally sound especially on defense. I know i'll probably get cussed for that but oh well that's just my opinion. I'm not trying to take away from this years team by no means because you'll be making room in your trophy case for a new gold ball in a couple of weeks. Again that's just my opinion for what it's worth.Barring a miracle or an act of god almighty i don't see FCS slowing down this orange and black express heading for the burro. But who knows miracles happen everyday and hey they are a christian school so it could get interesting. Good luck to my fellow region 4 folks we'll be praying for ya. Trust me your gonna need it!!!!!

Right off the top of my head I can say with little doubt that FCS will have a better match-up to South Pitt's speed.

I mean, they aren't going to be running them down from a 10 yard head start or anything, but I must have seen a half dozen white jerseys that were ahead of the runner and then just got left in the dust. FCS will have a better chance with their speed of keeping everything in front of them...

Alrighty then if you say so. I hope your right i'm region 4 first and south pitt second but i just have an eerie feeling that i'm gonna be wearing black and orange before this years out.lol Actually all i own is purple and gold but oh well good luck next week prideman. FCS may very well be faster than we are but i really didn't see it in Hartsville or when you played Gville. Rickaway is pretty fast and Markham has descent speed but no where near what i saw tonight. I do think your right about running inside though. I think that you can be successful running inside if you have the back to do it with. Who would FC run up the middle? Rickaway doesn't seem to me like that would be something he would do to well. But hey what do i know! Maybe Markham that kid seems pretty tough not big but tough.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
