some West TN teams do have nice facilities depends on how old the school is and most teams in the west do workout all year round just not every single day.... i kno 7-3A 6-3A 8-3A 7-2A 8-2A most of the teams in thoughs regions always work hard

I still think it is about money though, there's more money in most of midle and east tn than thre is in the west. So there is better facilities, better coaches, and most better everything.

Also missed MUS Div. II AAA champion in 2004 -- defeated Brentwood Academy.

Not since 1982....TALKING THE LAST 25 years..... Not Talking about the 70's...Everything since 1982....Only 5 teams have won... SHELBY METRO have been represented by 9 teams in ALL CLASSIFICATIONS since 1982:

 

1982- Memphis Catholic A Champ

1983- ECS- A , Germantown-AAA

1985-Hillcrest AAA, MUS- AA

1996, 1998- Melrose -3A

1999- Memphis East - 4A Div. II-A ECS

2000- ECS-Div. II AA

2001- Bishop Bryne Div II-A

2002- Ridgeway-3 A , Bishop Bryne Div II-A

2003- Germantown 5A

2004-Bishop Bryne Div. II A. Div II AA Memphis Briarcrest

2005 MUS- Div. II AAA, Div. II AA ECS

Much more clear. It seems that a few schools get good, and dominate till the coach retires. check this out, it

Shelby county and Memphis City Schools will have a hard time competing on the state level due to funding. While many of our suburban communities show tremendous support for the athletic programs the Shelby County board supplies no funding aside from basic supplements, $3800 for the head football coach, at the top end. All other dollars are raised by boosters. The city schools my have a small budget supplied by the BOE but little community support. Dilution of talent through increased # of privates in larger metro areas play a role. Everyone knows Memphis has an emphasis on Basketball.
