Thanks for the info Zone Pirate, the TSSAA changes things so much ,its hard to keep up with everthing. Ireally don't know what they are doing or where , I just heard they were working. In my opinion ,a kid has the right to try to get better if he or she wants to. Most of the Coaches I've known over the years always give the kids a couple of weeks off after the season has ended. As for my part of it , Idon't care what kind of rules the TSSAA makes about working out. I've got the needed equipment at my home. If a kid wants to work ,it will get done.

Same here. My son and I will start working some next week at the local gym and will go for some speed work soon. The TSSAA just wants kids to have a few weeks off from mandatory practices after the season has ended. Not a bad idea really. The kids that want to work out can always do it on their own

your a class act. just stay on SP threads. Thanks...

Wow, this lad is definitely from the dark side. There is no need to be rude and crude on the boards. You should obey what zonepirate says or he could make Lord Vader bow down. If it happens, just remember you heard it here first.

I tried to tell everyone that PUJO's young lads would go to war with anyone. The game could have took a huge turn right before the half and it would have essentially been over, but the dogs kept fighting, got a break and made a play. Keep it up dogs.

zonepirate I will agree with you that if the kids want to work on there own they will do it no matter what any one says. I agree that kids need a break after football for a bit. I was just wondering what your opinion might be on football players coming straight out of football and into basketball. I do think that the kids need atleast a few days before going to the hardwood. Probably every basketball coach will say diffierent, but I think it would be good for the kids to just relax a for a few days.

I agree but the TSSAA has nothing limiting that. Last year my son played the last football game on Thursday and BB started Monday. It was just too much. This year he is skipping BB and will work on getting stronger and faster over the winter. The organized conditioning program at SP won't start again until after the 1st of the year. Same for last year. Kids just need time off especially around the holidays but if they want to work on their own time..more power to them

    • I grew up watching Greene Devil Football since I could walk and still close with a lot of the coaches so should know my history pretty well lol.  Everything worked out the way it should have but firmly believe McCurry would have won some State Title if he wouldn't been let go (Greeneville still runs the same D he brought here and he let Ballard run the O and stayed out of it when it came to calling plays.  Greeneville was put out in the Semi's McCurry's last year against Maryville and the next year Greeneville stayed in 4a and was State Runner up playing were they were placed for the first time by the TSSAA.). It was definitely a McCurry and Ballard show that turned everything around along with the Community buying in and revamping the weight room and field house. Since Ballard got promoted to HC every Coach after him has been within the Greeneville Coaching staff because your right, they know what it takes to win a state championship.  Ballard was a master mine on O and what i think Greeneville has lacked since he left and let some Championships or making it to the Championship slip away over the last few years
