Marsha Wade, Anderson County High School

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

ASHLEY PITTMAN

Senior, Outside Hitter, Anderson County Led the Lady Mavericks to a Class A/AA second place finish, finished her season with 558 kills and her career with 1,588 kills. She has signed with King College.

KELSEY LEFFEW

Senior, Setter, Anderson County Set a state record with 49 assists in a match against Stone Memorial. She had 1,333 assists for the season and 2,952 assists in her career.

AMANDA MITCHELL

Senior, Middle, Farragut the District 4-AAA MVP had 496 kills, 247 blocks, 82 aces and 291 points for the Lady Admirals. Chattanooga, Western Carolina and Francis Marion are among Mitchell??™s schools of interest.

JESSICA LANE

Senior, Middle, Catholic Helped the Lady Irish to a 121-29 record the past three seasons. Had 546 kills, 156 blocks, 117 aces, 342 points, 78 digs and six assists.

SARAH TORGESON

Senior, Outside Hitter, Karns the District 3-AAA tournament MVP made all-region and finished her career with 1,487 kills, 1,042 digs and 365 aces.

STEPHANIE HARVILLE

Senior, Setter/Middle, Morristown East The Lady Hurricanes??™ leader missed 11 matches with an injury, but still managed 162 serving points, 42 aces, 242 kills, 239 assists, 140 digs and 39 blocks

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
