1.2 Release? hahahahahahahaha. Know what you're talking about before you go trying to blow someone up to be better than they are.

Matt Ramsey has all the right tools to be a catcher, all depends on when he gets the metal side of catching, and I don't see it being too long for him because he is a smart kid who has his pitching to help.

Will Ramsey be behind the dish for Farragut or what? I know they have Micheal Williams who is another great catcher...whats it going to be?

im not sure but i know he signed with UT as a catcher so im guessing it will be him

Michael Williams will be the starting catcher. Matt Ramsey is one heck of an athlete who will be starting in center field for the admirals. He will probably get some playing time behind the plate b/c it says in the Sentinel that he thinks he will be a pitcher and a catcher there. It is amazing to think that he hasn't caught a game in high school....

numbers look good..but catching is one of the things that numbers dont really matter (at least when u get around to throwing a 2.0 and below) It's all in the mind and lots of high school catchers i see are not mentally tough enough to be catching.

I agree. I've played with some catchers who weren't the quickest, nor the strongest, but their toughness made them pretty good catchers. Accuracy is as important, if not more, than time. If the middle infielder doesn't catch it at the bag, what difference does it make how fast it gets there?

Also, remember that a good pitcher can make a catcher look great. If the pitcher holds the runner close, then catcher has a better shot. And if a pitcher doesn't throw ten balls in the dirt in a game, the catcher has tons of more energy.

    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
    • Thats one of the problems of having an 8-team region. A team could make it in any other region, but the numbers work against them in this one.
