Just in AA, CPA hit 200 treys last year. They can fill it up. Livingston Academy can shoot the ball. Harpeth has 2 DI guys on the perimeter. They can shoot it well at times. Sycamore can shoot.

I think best in the state is a stretch. I haven't seen enough AAA games or Divison II, but I would imagine that there are some great shooting teams out there.

Of all the teams listed NCS is better statistically. They average 9.4 3's per game. Also, who cares if CPA hit 200 3's last year. NCS's top 3 players (ONLY 3 PLAYERS HAVE DONE THESE STATS) have hit 245 with one game left, so essentially by end of regular season 254ish. Also, these same players add up to exactly 43 points per game. It's one thing when you have a great scorer, or "deadly duo" of players, but when you have three players that can score, it's hard to defend regardless how well you play defense. And so there is no confusion here are the stats(TENNESSEAN.COM):

Caden Anderson 16.4 ppg/93 3's- 3.5pg

Bradley Elkins 15.9 ppg/ 79 3's- 3.5pg

Zach Bledsoe 10.9 ppg/ 73 3's- 2.8 3's pg

You can argue strength of schedule all you want to, but you can't deny offense like this. Also, they only allow 44ppg. So their 3 top players only give up 1 point, essentially, to other teams. Just thought I'd throw that info in for free.

I know that the high scoring teams in the west probably have similar ppg stats, probably better.....but it is still pretty impressive for a school with 170 students.

Strength of schedule and strength of defense are proportional I would guess. CPA is getting their treys with a big man inside leading them in scoring. It's an inside/out deal. Harpeth also has a 6'-8" center and gets a lot of points in transition off turnovers. Neither of those teams are live by the three, die by the three type teams.

It is impressive to hit that many three's against air, so I'll give NCS props for that, but #3 in the state is over rated imo. It's going to work itself out at tourney time.

The big guy from CPA had a couple three the other night. He doesnt get all his points inside. I would also say in sure their PG gets his number of shots from outside too. Havent seen them play this year thought. Only last. NCS does live or die by the three though, but they have been living this year. When you shoot like they do anything is possible.

It really don't matter that Nashville Christian is #3....Everybody knows that the 3 best teams in Single A are Union City, Manassas, and Humboldt...Plain and simple....So congrats on your #3 ranking....You're 27-1.....keep winning and hopefully you'll get to play one of those three and prove yourselves /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Coach Anderson didnt need to to pad anything to make himself look good. You really dont know what your talking about. He is in the hall of fame. He is a LIVING LEGEND. Yeah you really know what your talking about. Good try calling the coach out.

Why didnt you start this when they were #5 and were say 18-1 and only beat 2 teams with winning records. When they moved up to #3 did they pass your team or something?

I would not brag about beating Culleoka. They lost to MBA. And if this Poll is so bad then why are you using it in your argument maybe the teams your talking about shouldnt be where they are. If NCS is #3 and dont belong then what says the other teams belong where they are?

Why don't you go ahead and put Culleoka down for losing to a good team. I wish your coach would have put a little competition on NCS's schedule because there is no way NCS could have hung with MBA but i guess your coach is too scared to put a little competition on the schedule

NCS is a good team, one of the best 1A in MidTN, but it does seem a little skeptical that the normally play Harpeth, CPA, and FRA, but this year they didn't for some reason... I really think that playing a tough regular season schedule with some powerhouse teams on it makes you better and somewhat will pay off in the post season... NCS has had a questionable schedule, but we will find out in the next 3 weeks whether they are a top contender in the state or just another mediocre team in a weaker region, with a crap schedule... Only time will tell... As for Culleoka they will have enough to worry about this year getting to the substate with Moore Co, Richland, and Summertown in their region tourney....not saying that they are not good but, they very well may be upset in the region this year...

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
