Coniglio
Wednesday, February 13, 2008 8:45 AM DAVID WILSON IS COMING HOME!!! The Lord has providentially provided and has made smooth the path for David to return, via a medical plane, to his hometown of Chattanooga! He will be received by the trauma center at Erlanger Hospital. While there will be a strict no visitor policy until further notified, it will be so good to have David and the entire Wilson family, near their extended Chattanooga family. The doctors are very pleased that David??™s toxin levels in his blood continue to decrease. At the same time, David has been experiencing a great deal of pain in his legs. This is good in that it means he is beginning to get nerves and feeling back in those legs. When he overheard the doctors say that his kidneys might be doing better if he ate more, he took that as a personal challenge and immediately ordered a steak, baked potato, and vegetables. After eating about all of it, he washed it down with a tall milk shake. Why are we not surprised!? If there ever was a young man who could face and overcome a challenge, it would have to be David Wilson. May the Lord continue to shine his face on David and completely heal his body. While there is a long way to go, for each of you that have been reading and checking this site on a regular basis, I urge you to stop and thank the Lord for His faithfulness. Think back one week ago today. ???Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God my Father!??? We look forward with great anticipation as to how the Lord will work over this next week! Thank you for your prayer through this battle. ???The battle belongs to the Lord!??? Please also be in prayer for the rest of the Wilson family that is weary from the battle. May we lift them up in prayer, encouragement and through acts of service.
chasanooga
Last update posted: Saturday, February 9, 2008 - 9:00 AM EST The very first thing David's parents wanted posted was that Christ has answered prayers. The Lord has heard people from literally around the world cry out to God for grace, mercy and healing. Overall, Friday was a good day. The doctors saw his blood improve a bit and they have moved his status from critical to serious. This is a very positive step forward! Friday was also a very active day for David as he was making adjustments to post-surgery requirements. The movement and activity left David very tired at the end of the day. However, Mark Wilson stated late last evening that today (Friday) had been a good day. In fact, by late evening, David had feeling at the bottom of his feet. That feeling was not present earlier in the day. While slow but sure, there is a direct correlation between the many prayers and the progressive steps David is taking. Those of you who are reading this posting and have been praying, we expect that you are in this for the long haul. Whatever time period the Lord has on this recovery period, is the period we ask for your continued prayer and support. Again, the outpouring of love for the Wilson family has been overwhelming and they are most grateful! We in the soccer community as well as everyone from around the state continue to keep David and his family in our thoughts and prayers. We pray for a full recovery and hope that David at some point in time can play the sport he loves so much.
