How has this happend???

2 returning region champs @ 130 and 285 not seeded first. What criteria was used to seed Aboulmouna (Tullahoma) under Mitchell (Riverdale)? I am really confused to how this has happend and who allowed this to be overlooked, if it is incorrect. The only thing I can come to for the heavyweight is a common opponent that Roper (Tullahoma) has lost to prior to his injury that Bain (Warren Co.) has defeated if that is the case then the seed at 285 is correct. I believe someone got fooled for the 130 seeds to be this wrong. Please explain if you were present at the meeting.

There was a big argument about this at the seeding meeting. Nat's been out half the season because of eligibility issues, but had a better record percentage than Ziad (6-1 vs 22-4 ?). Pretty sure it came down to Coach Vaughn mentioning that Ziad's never beaten Nat, I believe the two wrestled twice last year. But we'll see tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it, I think it'll be a great match.

from what i remember in my old age... the criteria for seeding has always been 1) region record 2) head to head record 3) record vs common opponents and 4) either a battle royale with the last man standing getting the highest seed for his kid or coin flip... PBD did you happen to see any of this during your time in the vents at siegel

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
