FYI, Hixson pulled out of the Riverdale tourney due to injuries for the most part. The decision was made Sat morning to pull out of the tourney, which was cancelled a few hours later due to weather. It was further decided that we would not play anymore tourneys to give us time to heal up. Simple as that.

The others may be capable, but have not demonstrated that they can beat Hixson.

 

Not so far this year anyway.

 

But, that's why we play the tournament I guess.

Marion lost to Notre Dame 3-2...Had baserunners every inning, just couldn't get em across the plate...

That one surprises me, but it did sound as if Notre Dame played well against Grundy so maybe they're coming on at the right time.

 

In the paper this morning it had Grundy with 20 hits and Bledsoe with 12 errors during their game, how many baserunners did Grundy end up with?

Grundy scored 14 runs....runners left on base 1st-0 2nd-1 3rd-2 4th-2 5th-1 6th-2 7th-2 Bledsoe scored 9 runs.....Runners left on base 7th-2 Kayla Reagan 1 Home run

Thanks. The box just looked a little confusing, seemed to be a mix maybe of what each team called in. That was 24 baserunners total, did Bledsoe make a few errors other than allowing batters to get to first base (20 hits and 12 errors, in the box).

Errors on top of errors in the field.

One big inning Grundy scored 6, as a result of mulitple errors.

Just had to see it.

They should have saved some of those errors for Monday, especially after I jinxed Seq by saying they play good defense.

Indian, I think the Notre Dame game was a surprise to all us Marion fans as well. They only had a handful of hits and didn't pitch good or play real good defense. We just blew this one. An error and a 2 run homer got us beat....

Well, Marion went 0-4 at the Coffee Co. Classic. We did play well in spurts and had a chance to win the games against Baylor, White House, and Goodpasture. A few key hits or making a play when we needed to would have gone a long way. I am still not sure that we are putting our best nine on the field, but I guess that is for the coaches to decide. In case you didn't know we lost 10-1 to Coffee Co. (who went on to beat Baylor 8-2), 4-0 to Baylor, 6-3 to White House, and 4-2 to Goodpasture. I hope we learn from the experience and that the quality of competition will help us in the district tourney...Good Luck to all this week and next...
