Big wins for Camden and Bolivar

The balance of District 12-AA proved true last night with the #4 seed Bolivar and #6 seed Bolivar both making it to the championship game. It is fairly evident there is not a good team in the district this season.

You have to feel good for Camden's girls. How long has it been since they made it to the district championship game? It seems like it had to be in the early-90s when they had the Thornton girls.

Bolivar has a gem in Kindra Williams. How good will she be before she finishes as a Lady Tiger?

I agree that our district was evenly matched but to say that there are no good teams in the district then I would have to disagree. Kendra Williams is a great player for Bolivar but they also have a young team that is playing very well at the moment. Good Job to both Camden and Bolivar for making it to the Championship game.

I disagree with the no good teams comment as well. I don't think there are any great teams in the district but most are good teams. Samatha Burns being out really hurt McNairy. They beat Bolivar and Camden without her but last night nobody seemed to want to rebound. They stood their and looked at the basket while Bolivar went after the ball. She also would have helped when Bolivar drove into the paint. She did play the last 2:30 in the 3rd and she had 2 blocks and a couple rebounds and that's all she played. I guess Coach Lott wants to make sure she is healthy for the region tournament because that is when it's win or go home. I felt that Bolivar played more aggressive and unlike their game at McNairy, they crashed the boards hard last night. YOu add that rebounding with their three point shooting and are going to be tough to beat. Whoever wants it more between these four teams is going to win because everyone is equal. Bolivar and McNairy will be battling out the next few years. Bolivar is young and McNairy only graduates two seniors. They also have some talented so and fr and alot of talent coming up from the middle schools. Congrats to Bolivar and Camden on making the district championship and good luck to all the 12AA teams in the Region.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
