mchswrestlershotput09
as the track season is starting who are some returning shotput and discus throwers? Boys or girls.
WestTNtrack
Ben Davies would probably win state in the shot (and about 7 other events) if the rules didnt limit the number of events.
BenHur
MLK girls got a former national junior olympic shot champ (11-12 age group). She has not thrown in two years but I think will make an impact this year.
teece31
CPA's returning Parris who threw 149' at Section in discus... I believe he's the only returner from A/AA Middle Section that qualified for State. FRA returns two shot putters who placed 2 and 3 in the A/AA Middle Section. The [{RUMBLING}] Raider
For the men, Aaron Cagle returns for Cleveland High School. He finished 8th in state last year as a Junior, but was hindered with ankle problems after he broke one of 'em. He actually finished 3rd in state two years ago as a Sophmore, so he'll definately be one to watch for. I believe he threw around 144' this past Tuesday in a meet at Cleveland. For the women, Jordan Beard also returns for Cleveland. She finished 6th last year in state as a Sophmore, so she'll be another thrower in the Chattanooga area to look out for. teece31
Top Boys Dontari Poe Ben Davies Rees Burt Top girls Quen Smith Jasmine Foster Brittany Grandberry LaQuoya Kellie I don't believe that Davies throws... only as a part of the Decathlon at State where one can only do so many events. TennesseeRunner.com
I don't believe that Davies throws... only as a part of the Decathlon at State where one can only do so many events. That was the top performances from 2007 by people that will be back this year. They had to have meet the old elite standards. I would say you are correct about him throwing but he is still one of the top returners. We have three meets in the data base with the new "all inclusive" standard.
