Got another bone to pick with the TSSAA

Guys,

I have yet another bone to pick with the TSSAA. We have some great Regional Quarterfinal games going on all over the state of Tennessee on Saturday evening. Games that would be assured of getting quality gates and lots of mention in communities all over the state.

Problem is, the biggest college basketball game in the history of this state will be going on at about the same time these region games are occurring, particularly in the Central Time Zone.

My question is, how hard would it have been for Ronnie Carter and the TSSAA to move up the start times for these games two hours so that people would be more inclined to pay for a ticket, go to a great high school game, and then go home and see the epic UT-UM game? It is a Saturday for pete's sake. This is ridiculous. The kids who play the game are not going to even be able to watch it.

I just think this is another example of the TSSAA totally dropping the ball.

Am I wrong?

Well, sort of. First of all this is high school and there's no way they could have foreseen how big a college game it would be.

Now having said that, Waverly asked Bolivar to move their game to Friday since Bolivar hosted Waverly's boys and girls. But they refused. But Bolivar had the nerve to call back and want to move the boys game to 4. I wouldn't have agreed to it if I had been coach. I would have said, let's play Friday. That's a disgrace to their school administration. I'm encouraging all Waverly fans to refrain from buying anything from concessions either night. We are having to pay double gas.

no butts handed to them, but sorry, no Memphis victory on Saturday. UT much more athletic. But besides, this is a high school board.

More athletic is a joke...Douglas-Roberts at a 6'7 wing, has the best mid-range game in the country...Rose will be the most athletic player on the court Saturday, Dorsey will be blocking shots, rebounding, and catching oops all night as long as he stays out of foul trouble, and Antonio Anderson will be in Lofton's face all night...Oh, and please don't let Doneal Mack get hot...The game is in Memphis where he shoots the ball extremely well...

Memphis has 4 future NBA players on their roster in 6'7 Douglas-Roberts, 6'4 Rose, 6'9 Dozier, and 6'9 Dorsey...Memphis plays 10-11 deep with relentless defense and a unique combination of speed and size that overwhelms everyone they play...But sure, UT is more athletic..

Oh, and since this is a high school board...um Go Humboldt Vikings..

    • Perhaps it is within the realm of possibility that the comprehension of my discourse, both by yourself and others, may be circumscribed by the boundaries of intellectual acumen. Might one contemplate this notion from such a perspective? Allow me to clarify that my intent does not lean towards disparagement, save for instances where provocation is directed towards myself or the esteemed troupe of the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets who proudly find domicile upon the hallowed grounds of CREEKBANK. In contemplation of the candidates under discussion, it is conjectured that individuals such as Gregory, Woodmore, Vetetoe, Eden, Hackett, and Cothron may emerge as contenders. Regrettably, it is deemed improbable that Shoulders shall express interest in this pursuit. Speculation arises regarding the potential candidacy of BJ West, albeit the implications of familial ties with Lafayette introduce complexities to such a scenario. The enigma of Dr. Clint's deliberations looms large, fraught with the weight of a formidable decision yet to be made.
    • My kind sir, you seem to be lost within the time space continuum having traveled from the 16th Century or you aspire to hide your true intelligence by masking your language with that of the great playwright. You know good and well, your commentary takes your fellow comrades hours to decipher what you are really saying and most of them are likely left questioning whether you have insulted them or find them to be in your favor. I offer you some advice. In my travels through this area of the country, it is best to speak slow and with a twang and you don't annunciate  words to their fullest. Your points will be clear then!  Any names been mentioned around town as Actual Applicants to this job? Seen several post mentioning individuals, but I haven't heard of any of them except for Shoulders. Does he have ties to TC?  Have amy of the other names mentioned ever been in the HC position before?
    • They’re building something special there. They have 4 Varsity games scheduled & 5 JV. They are trying for a 5th Varsity game. Beat them now because they will be good in the future. They are building a football field there I think but the rich pricks of Farragut won’t let them get lights so they are possibly looking at property to build a stadium & field with lights
