Blind draw pairings for State Tourny

There is a silver ball that goes to the runner-up team. Although YOU can't remember who was runner-up, the players, coaches and fans that have that in their trophy case do.

 

It is a testament to a team's season to even be the runner-up in the state. If you blind draw the top two teams in the first round, you deprive the second best team of ever being the runner-up.

 

Well no matter what, you are going to have the possibility of the 2 best teams matching up in the first game. It happened in 2005, when Temple played Middleton in the 1st game... But with the old format, at least you had no chance of teasm from the same district meeting until the finals. So if the two best teams are from the same district, it worked good for that......

 

Except in 2003. Didnt the T$$AA have regions paired up? Cause UH played Cosby.

In AA, Mitchell was the runner-up last year! In A, CSAS was the runner-up last year! In AAA, Clarksville was the runner-up last year! but I only know the runner-ups from last year!

BUT, the best team doesn't always win - especially tournament basketball
