Halftime

Clarksville - 33

Ridgeway - 21

Clarksville gained an 11 point advantage. Ridgeway cuts the lead to 8 but Clarksville's Caldwell scores on a putback then Reed Harper scores in the last seconds on a Ridgeway turnover.

Ridgeway has the explosiveness to get back in this game quickly with players like Jason Jones. Clarksville's defense has been a problem for the Roadrunners and the Wildcats are rebounding surprisingly well against the much bigger Ridgeway team.

Baggett, Barnes and Caldwell all scoring well for the Cats.

Seigal will play Ridgeway in the semi-Finals of AAA

Clarksville - 50

Ridgeway - 51

Sounded like Cats wilted under the Ridgeway pressure. Congrats to the Roadrunners. Fantastic game!

In the battle of AAA Mr. Basketball Finalists; Tyrone Caldwell of Clarksville with 19 pts and Jason Jones of Ridgeway with 9 pts. Both are great ballers in the State of Tennessee. This was a clash of Titans where the Roadrunners avenged their loss to the Cats in last years Quarter finals.

Wow. That must have been ONE exciting game! Great win for Ridgeway. Heartbreaker for Clarksville!

Ridgeway seems to have pulled out another gritty, comeback victory! Great win, but RW seems to love living life on the edge. They seem to have this uncanny knack for falling behind early in big ballgames, then come storming back in the end.

This goes all the way back to their comeback victory over Raleigh-Egypt, way back in December. They overcame a 12-14 pt deficit to Manassas, also in December, to pull out a narrow 6pt victory. Lastly, White Station got up double-digits on RW back in the Regional Finals. RW stormed back to eek out a 78-74 OT victory!

Ridgeway's comeback victory tonight over Clarksville (and the other key victories, listed above) could be looked at as a positive OR negative, depending on your interpretation:

A) Heart of a Champion --Championship caliber teams find a way to overcome adversity (e.g. deficits). They don't wither under pressure. They never give up. They never stop believing that they can win. They dig deep down and find a way to win. On the other hand...

B.) Play poorly in big ball games -- If this is the case, Ridgeway had better get out the gate a whole lot quicker vs. Seigal. Otherwise, that nasty big-game habit of falling behind could very well cause RW to get sent home packing!

As a Memphian, I HOPE that the answer is 'A." I HOPE!

We shall see...

Congratulations Ridgeway. Great season Clarksville.

Congratulations Ridgeway. Great season Clarksville.

Thank you, TraderB. Ridgeway turned the tables on Clarksville at about the middle of the 3rd quarter. Clarksville gained a 13 point advantage playing a good solid defense and capitalizing on Ridgeway turnovers. In the second half, Ridgeway increased their defensive pressure and the tempo of the game. Clarksville turned the ball over and were missing what few open looks they could manage to get. Clarksville scored only one basket in the 4th quarter and that was a last second three ball.

I agree that Ridgeway cannot afford to get behind against Seigal. I listened to the Seigal game against Antioch and they seem to have a very solid and well disciplined team. A habit of having to come from behind will eventually come back to bite.

Yes, Clarksville had a good season especially since they lost some key players from last year's team. This is Tyrone Caldwell's Senior season so next year he will suit up for the Governors of Austin Peay along former Ridgeway players Earnst Fields, Wes Channels, and Caleb Brown. All three former Ridgeway players just mentioned currently play key roles off the bench but all three should be starters next year. Channels and Fields especially have seen a lot of playing time this year and Fields really blossomed late in the season.
