Ridgeway vs. Clarksville

Thank you, TraderB. Ridgeway turned the tables on Clarksville at about the middle of the 3rd quarter. Clarksville gained a 13 point advantage playing a good solid defense and capitalizing on Ridgeway turnovers. In the second half, Ridgeway increased their defensive pressure and the tempo of the game. Clarksville turned the ball over and were missing what few open looks they could manage to get. Clarksville scored only one basket in the 4th quarter and that was a last second three ball.

I agree that Ridgeway cannot afford to get behind against Seigal. I listened to the Seigal game against Antioch and they seem to have a very solid and well disciplined team. A habit of having to come from behind will eventually come back to bite.

Yes, Clarksville had a good season especially since they lost some key players from last year's team. This is Tyrone Caldwell's Senior season so next year he will suit up for the Governors of Austin Peay along former Ridgeway players Earnst Fields, Wes Channels, and Caleb Brown. All three former Ridgeway players just mentioned currently play key roles off the bench but all three should be starters next year. Channels and Fields especially have seen a lot of playing time this year and Fields really blossomed late in the season.

From the posts, it seems that Caldwell kid is a big-time 'baller, as well.

Man, Austin Peay figures to have a pretty darn good team for the next few years!

Did anyone else find it strange that Coach Young allowed more than a minute to run off the clock when he was down by one? Adam Barnes went out to defend the ball, and Coach Young waived him off and told him to wait. Even when Ridgeway called the timeout, which allowed CHS to set up their defense, Clarksville didn't come out and start applying a great deal of pressure. Someone on CHS's bench should have realized they only had 3 team fouls and they needed to get Ridgeway to the foul line to try and get the ball back. Instead, Ridgeway hit a backdoor lay up and CHS came down and missed a layup, with less than a minute to go. At that point the game was all but over.

With 2:47 left to go CHS packed it in and didn't give their players a chance to go win the game. It's a shame that Caldwell's career ends in such lackluster fashion--watching Ridgeway dribble out over a minute of his last quarter.

Very nice season for CHS, especially considering what they lost last year. It will be interesting to see what they can do next year with Mr. Caldwell running the show.
