AC vs Karns in Sports Belle

Should be a good game. But I have only seen AC play once. Plus it looks like they struggled with Scott Co. last night only beating them by 7 in both games. Maybe they can't hit slow pitching????

Well looks can be decieving, from what I heard AC played mostly freshmen against Scott Co. and the coach wasn't going to run up the score and be a bushleaguer. I dunno how they will do against Karns.

I've seen both this year and I'm more impressed with AC so far. Karns can play with them if they bring their "A" game and don't make any mistakes.

Karns beat AC tonight 8-7. This was a great game. Karns jumped out early on some key AC mistakes, but AC stormed back down 4 in the six to tie it at 7-7. Karns then hit the game winner in the bottom of the six with two outs. Game was called due to time limit. Wish it could have gone the full seven. I'd say their would have been some excitement by both teams in the last inning. Great game both teams.

Karns didnt bring their "A Game" and still won. Karns won with a sophomore shortstop.

It never ceases to amaze me of how people play weak competition and think they are unstoppable. Just because you think what you are watching is "baseball" doesn't mean it actually is baseball.

Case in point, Campbell County

It was a great game but AC made three critical mistakes in the first inning and still came back. Also a critical blown call by the umpire at second base gave Karns another run. So before you go ragging on AC you might want to think about how the game actually went instead of just the score. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
