DeKalb beat Macon 5 - 2 in 8 innings. A very good ball game 1 - 1 tie through 7 innings

 

Smith also beat Livingston and is scheduled to play Macon tonight, with the winner playing DeKalb.

A player for Macon County last night took a foul ball to the head while in the dugout and had to be taken off in ambulance. Not sure the extent of the injury, but keep her in your prayers. Why do they not have screens/fences up in front of the dugouts?

the dugouts are rather large and do have a fence in front of them. the majority of the dugout does have a roof (it is a deep dugout, so if you sit underneath the roof, you are probably not going to be able to see anything), but there is a space between the fence and roof. i believe the player has a severe concussion, so definitely keep her in your prayers. She was sitting on a bucket in the part of the dugout that is not covered. the coaches have been urging the girls all week to be careful in there and it is unfortunate that this happened.
