Sequatchie 12-2 over East Ridge in five. Good pitching after a rough start, strong hitting especially by a sophomore with a grand slam, good defense. Nice win but East Ridge has really gone downhill from the old days and even from just a couple of years ago. Monday will have Hixson-Marion, Sequatchie-Chattanooga Christian in winners' bracket, Notre-Dame-Grundy and East Ridge-Bledsoe in losers' bracket.

Tough night for the valley teams. All of them lost except Grundy, who won 2-1 in extra innings over Notre Dame. Hixson pounded Marion 12-0, East Ridge came from behind to beat Bledsoe 13-11, and at last count CCS was beating Sequatchie 6-0...

I would like everyone to say a prayer for the East Ridge Catcher who was taken off by Ambulance after an apparent seizure and wish her a speedy recovery. Her team put together a valiant comeback which had to be tough considering what was going on. Good Luck to all of the teams tomorrow.

Marion vs. East Ridge 4:30 cst

Sequatchie vs. Grundy 4:30 cst

Chattanooga Christian 10-4 over Sequatchie. Six runs came in the third inning on six hits, they didn't have a baserunner in the first two but the bottom of the order got CCS going. They had six in the third, two in the fourth on a home run. Seq got three back in the fourth, two with a home run, then CCS scored two more in the sixth, Seq scored one more that inning.

No errors for Sequatchie, just one bit of miscommunication on a bunt, the rest was just good hitting. Seq hit the ball much better than the last game against CCS, that was a 1-0 win but they just had two hits and scored on a CCS error. Sequatchie had five hits and four batters walked. CCS had one error, an outfielder let a ball skip past her but the home run followed anyway so it didn't hurt them. I thuoght a runner left third early on a sacrifice fly late, but that only makes the score 9-4 instead of 10-4 and wouldn't have changed the outcome. Sequatchie hit the ball hard several times but CCS made the plays, only seven Ks and three by one batter. If they play defense like that they will have a good shot against Hixson.

Bledsoe looked in complete control of their game against East Ridge, the outcome really was surprising.

Notre Dame blew a chance to take the lead against Grundy late. Second and third with one out, a short fly to center, not too hard of a throw to home but the girl still probably would have been safe with a good slide. The way it ended, the play wasn't even close for the third out. Grundy scored quick in the bottom of the eighth to win it.

Hixson looked strong against Marion, took control early. CCS appears to be playing well but Hixson still has to be the team to beat until somebody proves differently.

Hixson 3-2 tonight over Chattanooga Christian in the final. CCS made at least half a dozen errors leading to Hixson runs. They got within one a late two-run home run but no closer.

Chattanooga Christian 7-4 over Sequatchie in the losers' bracket. Two earned runs out of seven for CCS. Except for the hitting, six hits, only one strikeout, and four earned runs off a good pitcher, it was not a very sound game for Seq with fielding and baserunning mistakes that haven't taken place too often this season. It was unfortunate CCS saved all their fielding mistakes until the next game, against Hixson.

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
